The Yamaha Lube is a replacement for the T-9 which I've been using for 30 years along with the Ring free and non-ethanol gas!! Use a high pressure Evinrude lower unit oil and plus several types of marine grease for shafts and trailer bearings.....The minute you stop maintaining your equipment is when you start looking for a tow.....LOL!!

Here is some grease. I use this for anything that needs to be greasy.
Here is some oil. I use this for anything that needs to be oily.
Here is some cleaner. I use this on stuff that I want to clean.

I am also a fan of the Evinrude Triple Guard Grease. Have not found a grease as resistant to washout and mixing with water as that stuff. I have tried a lot of different greases too.

I love the Mercury extreme grease. I put it on all engine bolts and on the prop-shaft. Never had an issue removing any hardware I coated with it. I don’t think you could go wrong with the Yamaha or Evinrude greases. They’d probably all work equally well at staving off corrosion and keeping things lubricated.

OK so with the gear case lube I learnt at the mercury technicians course that the premium gear lube was for all engines up to 75 HP, and the high performance gear lube for everything above 75hp. The racing stuff you have to refer to the manual for the correct lube.
    Thanks again Aaron cheers

Aaron I've used the Quicksilver spray power tune and it works! Too bad the BRP gasket sealing compound is getting hard to come by! Great video btw, you could've used some of the many boat products on the shelf in my shop lol 😬. BRP grease is the cats meow and Quicksilver too. Buy the BRP products while you still can!

Would love to see some tech tools in action. Things like using YDS to diagnose problems (I'm a Yamaha owner, so don't know the Mercury or BRP sides), how you test for & find electrical faults (saw the power probe on your bench and googled it to learn more), how a technician would remove all the water from a gas tank, common ways people rebuild/replace old switch panels. Thanks for all you do and share!

Question? When you where showing the fogging process was that a 2 stroke or a 4? Reason im asking is my boat is a 2 stroke and is horrible at getting to some of these spark plugs for fogging. Yes I would take each one off and spray inside. But that looks way easier to fog it the way you showed.

Random question for you boating people.
Is grounding the metal fuel fill cap required(fiberglass hull)? tank is up in the bow with metal gas fuel fill on deck. When i got The boat the ground from the sending unit goes up to the metal fuel filler gas cap then goes to the same ground point as the gauge is this correct?

If in need to use ring free, should an external gas tank be used or you just put it in the boat gas tank? Also, does it matter how much gas you mix it with?

With BRP discontinuing Evinrude, do you have a stock of triple guard grease? Do you have a solid alternative? IMO yamalube isn’t as tacky as triple guard. Yamalube almost seems to be the same as Lucas Marine grease.

Hi. I watch your videos every week. I get a lot of good info from you as a result. But I own an I/o Baja 180 Islander with a 4.3 lx carbed engine. I was wondering if you ever have the opportunity to work on and video stern drive boats? I didn’t know Mercury made engine internal cleaner. I use sea foam. Do you have any experience with that product?

Can you use the yamaha ring free and yamaha internal engine cleaner on a 2 stroke evinrude etec? I want to decarb it and would love to do it the best way possible. The Evinrude Tuner is not available in california anymore, so thats out of the question. I had an evinrude dealer tell me ring free would be bad for it since it would strip all the 2 stroke oil. Please let me know your thoughts!

My favorite penetrating oil is knock-er-loose, if you can find it. We have 5 lawn spraying trucks that we have to maintain, so I’ve tried all of them. I’ve also read somewhere that you’re supposed to use 4200 fast cure within 24 hours of puncturing the seal. Is that true?
