Pink Floyd were trying all sorts of ideas for what became The Great Gig In The Sky before inviting Clare Torry to sing/improvise over what they had at that time. But for their American tour which started 8 September 1972 through to their European tour ending in France on 10 December 1972, were they really playing part of Procol Harum's Whaling Stories?
