Breathe reprise with Paul Carrack on vocals
The Great Gig In The Sky with Special Guest Clare Torry.
Clare is fine, the musicians leave a lot to be desired.

I often watch Americans reacting to the pulse live version of tggints and time and time again the comments praise Claire Tory for her vocal. I admit that it was unbeatable, but it was a one-off and there's a big difference between getting it right once in a studio and doing it live for months on end. Personally I like the different textures of the 3 vocalists and Sam Brown blew it out of the water.

Clare's vocals are better on this version compared to Knebworth '90 but the performance from Roger's backup band is lacklustre.
As I understand it, Clare's appearance at this gig was very much a last minute idea following a chance meeting with Roger earlier that day. As Great Gig was otherwise not in their set list, it's no surprise that both the band and Clare sound somewhat under-rehearsed. But I agree she still sounds better than at Knebworth 90.

Wonder what she would sound like today? I'd still listen! I think I read she was born in 1947.
I attended this show. Half the band was playing from sheet music on the floor and chairs. It was definitely a one-off surprise. We were all thrilled just to see and hear her live.
Roger is nothing without Dave, Rick and Nick

The backup band is good enough. I don't understand why other commenters are saying it lacks emotion. Pretty good for a last-minute guest spot.
Clare's song starts at 2:00. Unfortunately the rest of the band sounds a little stoned.

Gilmour was busy touring as Pink Floyd (with a lot more success) at the time, much to the annoyance of Roger...
Well, for starters, Gilmour can tune his guitar. Then, he can find the proper pitch of a tune. He can also technically execute whatever he sets up for the tune. Moreover, he can display feelings, moods, and intentions through all of the previous steps. These people playing couldn't. None of it; none of them. I know, Roger wrote the whole thing and came up with the concept. But everything that depends mostly on the performance and the rendition itself was up to Dave, who is a freaking awesome musician and performer. These people aren't. It's ok. Some things are, in fact, louder than words sometimes. (Roger is my favorite writer ever, make no mistake; Dave is my favorite singer/guitar player frontman ever, so...). Cheers!
This is the weirdest thing about Roger: he doesn't seem to get it when his voice doesn't fit the rendition; sometimes it does masterfully and delightfully, like the entirety of The Wall, Animals, and the listenable part of The Final Cut. Dave, on the other hand, can't write that deep but...he's been a flawless singer and guitar player ever since he entered Floyd.

The back-up musicians are the worse who covered the song. They destroyed this classic piece. I grew-up listening to Pink Floyd. Sorry but this is unacceptable.
