Gordo slimes are basically just a amalgamation of smiles that have combined together and became so obese they couldn’t move and you help them by over feeding the amalgamation to a point that it explodes
In the prequel just called slimerancher they were scattered throughout the map idk if it's true in this game too but it's normal that they explode there's even a gold slime goldo that can be used with a slime snare and many other things like quicksilver slimes or glich slimes but this sequel of monomi parks game has even more strange thing also Gordon's have sometimes keys so technically with Gordon's you can unlock new places

You can bait them in the first game using snares and their favourite food. Using this you can even get gordos that don't spawn naturally, such as boom, quantum, lucky or even golden!
