50% HP is great no doubt. But lets be honest, looking at the before dyne chart, clearly it's just uncokblocking the USA EPA noise restrictions that seem to be put on every new USA bike nowadays. Not sure Kawasaki ever intended to release this bike with that flat nothing above 11500 rpm. Doubt it's being released the same way in other countries. My issues with this bike is that it's not just the price but it's weight is also close to the zx6r as well and the zx6r is built in Japan while the zx4rr is built in Thailand to cut cost. Has nothing to do with a manufacturer being kind and giving it to us at all. I'm sure they've done their due diligence in surveying the market and consumers well before taking this risk. Go ahead and take it back and sell nothing. I'll buy what I can get or hold off and wait for Honda or Yamaha to maybe release their inline 4's. Doesn't matter as there are options and I am reconsidering a slight bit here if a 600 or 750 super-sport makes more sense while it's still available. They effectively brought to market a bike that drives my spending decision their way. The 4's are pretty special and glad they made one as my love is with an FZR-400R. Kawasaki took a risk with development and good on them. It's to tap into a market and rebuild sport bike love and be within regulations. Yes they've done good there. I would've bought a ZX-25R had it been available and then regret it because it's too small. Who doesn't want a power rocket in a small package? We all know with 400 racing it's popular with the Ninja 400's as the bike of choice. This takes the sport to a whole new level. We're all just not happy consumers on this side get the neutered end of the stick. Will it stop us? No. We all know bikers are crazy and will do anything to UNLOCK 50% more power. Definitely not. There are many things adjusted in the ECU. Fuel and Timing being the main obviously, if its throttle by wire almost all factory bikes close off the throttle substantially in the top end and not including the on off switch feeling being fixed. Nate definitely knows what he is doing over there. Im on my 3rd bike flashed/tuned by them, most recently my super duke r last week. Essentially your bike makes more power but also running more efficiently within safe parameters.
