      You need a club with a gaurenteed 25 home games of 40,000 to make it viable,.. yes you might get one or two concerts a season of 40,000 but to please the borrowers you need to show a regular income,with Premier league TV money,that's not an issue,bit when your stuck in division one,they won't even return your calls,..I would have thought the local council might have chipped in some money but with the corruption/debt being exposed there,that's not a serious option,..of course you need a team first,you need to be challenging for the playoffs in the championship before anybody serious gives the go ahead for a stadium costing 5/600 million,if you want all the mod cons,like a retractable roof...🤔

    Tom Wagner has not the slightest intention of building a 60000 seat stadium sports quarter on that piece of land. He has made the majority of his money from real estate investments and knowing that that piece of land is within 100m of the HST hub into Europe for all passengers and freight for the whole of the North of the UK only a fool would build something that he would have to continually invest in and gamble on any returns. Do the maths a couple of thousand apartments hotels shopping and leisure complex’s would generate profits of well over 750 million in just sales alone not a bad return for 48 million and that’s without even touching the European freight warehouses and logistics side of it. The man has hardly mentioned the rebuilding of a team that will be in 4 weeks thread bare when the contracts run out on half the squad no matter how bad some where and at one point of the season sixth in the league. Why build a 60000 seat stadium when Harry Potter and all the wizards at hogwarts wouldn’t have enough magic to fill it

    Agree with most of his points. Will Everton become a top team with a new stadium? Did Sunderland? Did Middlesborough?
    Look at Rangers, Celtic, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Leeds United. Their stadia mean a lot to the fans.
    St Andrews is full of character, and memories.
    The new project will certainly bring jobs and opportunities for locals but won’t guarantee any success for the team.
    It’s a bit marmite really.
    Have to get behind Tom Wagner as he really has a vision and passion for his club. Hopefully progression starts in August ON the pitch 👍

    We all need to play safe, If you pump money onto the pitch first we would be hit with more FFP. So what you need to do is bring in sponsors, jobs, entertainment and a home that would work within the club for future footballers. I.e J.Bellingham. The money would flow smoothly into the club. Tho man city is huge, successful in signing players, winning Cups....Now there gonna be hit with over 150 FFP charges. We have to see what happens because Blues have been let down so many times by owners. Let's sit back, support our team and see if the owners are genuine. This can be good, not only for BCFC but for the city.

    • @philspilsbury66
      @philspilsbury66 Před měsícem

      Well that is an issue as we will lose many millions in broadcast revenues in L1 so our spending will need to keep the FFP 3 year cycle in mind when we recruit in this league with the big revenue drop we will end up with whilst in League One. The new stadium will be under separate ownership though so is outside of FFP.

    The unfortunate thing with Tom and the company that now owns Birmingham they are an investment company they ain't a football owner solely with this club in mind they've seen other business opportunities here that come with owning this club ..probably made the sweeter by our ex mayor Andy street .. 💯 success at this club like all clubs comes from on the pitch and priority is to get the hell out of this one for sure ..but they can't spend their way out of it ..and they ain't gonna anyway even if we get back into the championship.. this company wants real returns from all this and that's in the shape of hotel and other profit making ventures that run parallel with the new ground ..but 💯 we want success on the pitch FIRST with new ground second

    Birmingham Mail rubbish, why only this letter from one fan put in big headlines, Birmingham Mail rubbish, stirring up fans. We need the new stadium for funds for the club not only from the stadium but the surrounding complex, it will take 5 to 8 years to build, and you can not put that on the back burner, why would you, the stadium cost will not come out of the funds for new players, they are separate. so I and 98% of fans think Terry is wrong.

  • @DavidTaylor-ly3ef
    @DavidTaylor-ly3ef Před měsícem +1

    Unfortunately the sports complex an over entertainment is gonna be a big money spinner when it's up and going it will bring a lot of money in for the club it won't be only football there it'd be athletics tennis major rock concerts so that's what they're looking a money spinner plus I think they want to see the club do well as well

  • @philspilsbury66
    @philspilsbury66 Před měsícem +7

    Love Terry's passion but all strands of improvement in this club need to push forward at the same time. It's not a matter of only being able to focus on one thing over another. I want them to improve the team and get us up AND push forward for rebuilding our infrastructure and revenues too. So maybe I am the ONE fan out of the ten Terry talks about. Different management teams will be running all these projects so all these things can push forward and run concurrently. The new stadium will take 5+ years so that project needs to start immediately. If we wait for promotion to PL first then what? then wait for another 5 years for the stadium? we need both at the same time and different management teams will be working on this so working on the stadium in no way impacts any team rebuild. • @loken9124
      @loken9124 Před měsícem +2

      It's people like you that never get anything done. The stadium wont be built in five minutes, probably not even five years so you are just deluded. What if we are in the prem in three years and before you say what if we're not, theres no point in dwelling on what ifs because if we do that nothing will ever get done, so both the rebuild of the stadium and the rebuild of the player need to be done in tandom and need to be done now.

    • @andyniblett8986
      @andyniblett8986 Před měsícem +1

      Dear me - the only way you get the finance to build a team worthy of the premier , is to first have the money to do it .
      You do that by getting your fans to spend their money at the ground .
      That ground needs to be 40,000 bare minimum , these days.
      Forest have a 30,000 stadium , and have thrown the kitchen sink at staying up ....something like 20 new players , and they are barely hanging on , and apparently breaking the rules to do it
      Leeds nearly bankrupted the club by trying to compete with man utd , without having the finances to do it ...having everything on the never ,never .
      All 3 clubs that got promoted last year from the championship , are going back down to the championship ....because they cannot compete .
      And the 3 that got promoted will struggle next year
      There have been the odd exception ,leicester for one season , but it won't be 10 seasons .
      The only way blues will ever compete in the premier league is to have a 60,000 stadium , being used 365 days a year , and fans spending money at the ground on each home games ....its basic economics
      Concerts , nfl ....
      In answer to the economics , can wolves or albion ever compete with Liverpool, man utd or arsenal on a long term basis , when they get crowds of 30,000 .
      Brighton a fantastically well run club have to keep selling players to compete, even though they have a great manager.
      Will leicester win the premier league again ...I doubt it .
      There is an elite of 10 - 12 clubs developing , all with bigger stadiums , all with mens ,womens and junior teams competing and generating higher income , meaning better players , and more support .
      Its no secret that the same teams that are moving ahead in the mens are also doing it in the womens game .
      If blues ever want to make their way onto the bottom rung of this elite , then a new stadium ,is a must .
      As we get more successful , the support will come .
      A few years ago , the club down the road had 13,000 season ticket holders , now they have 24,000 and a waiting list , but even that in terms of economics , means this season ,they are punching above their weight , when you look at the income arsenal and spurs are bringing in .
      We have got the right people in , emotion will be taken out of it .
      This is business , and these people are business people , who are crunching the data and the numbers
      Support them and get behind them .
      The team ,the support and everything else will follow .
      I have a feeling the two things , the stadium and the team will start to grow at the same time .
      I reckon 2 - 3 in league 1 , while the foundations , and our future are quietly put into place .
      KRO - FEA 💙
