  • We won this Extreme Backyard Makeover in a radio contest with Shine FM. We filmed it over one day on July 9, 2010. The workers came in and worked for just over 10 hours. Watch an 8 minute time lapse of the day as you see our backyard before and after.

    Thanks for all the comments everyone! We've had some awesome laughs at a few over the years.
    Yes we've added flowers and more greenery in the past 8 years...and a new deck the width of the house/yard on two levels and a bbq kitchen. Hottube to come. Maybe.
    At the time we had 4 boys ages 11, 9, 7 & 5 so this was perfect for kicking a ball around or running around. Oh and the dog was added too. Here's a more updated photo: instagram.com/p/Bmrs9KcDpzj/?

      You gotta think tho. Theres a trampoline which means they have kids or have kids back there often. Kids like to tear shit up so probably smart to not put flowers

    • @alexafa316
      @alexafa316 Před 4 lety +1

      Their are some flowers. But they probably decided to plant it them self's. And I disagree about kids being little monsters and tearing shit up, you can discipline your kids not to do that.

      If you have young kids or a dog this makes way more sense, they need a wide open place to play and would just destroy your plants. Gating everything off ruins the effect of the flowers plus then they get less sun.

    Michael what a transformation! At first I thought why didn't you put the hot tub top left in the garden near the fence but after seeing the finished project maybe I was wrong. Your hot tub is like a little swimming pool, talking of which?? I think way down the road it isn't a crazy idea to suggest a pool centre stage in the middle of the garden may be something to consider, a kidney shaped one isn't the worst idea? Just a thought when everything else is done and you're ready for a luxurious back yard upgrade.

    roll the lawn and then soak the lawn with the hose for 24 hours. Gives the sod much needed moisture, rolling secures the rootlets into the new graded soil. Otherwise, the sod dries out, lifts, shrinks, blows away. All that expense and work goes to waste.

    And I would really prefer some more bushes and plants... but probably you will plant them later.
    Zajímalo by, jak se k těm stromům dostane voda, když je všude okolo nich folie (pokud to teda dobře vidím).
