Star Citizen is an Open Development Alpha Project by Cloud Imperium. It is 2 Games really though, the Persistent Universe that aims to build a First Person MMO Space Sim that encompasses gameplay in ship & on ground, economy and pretty much anything else you can think of. It's built in the StarEngine (a modified Lumberyard Engine). You'll see massive Space Ships that you can fly with friends, land on planets, explore or whatever your way to whatever goal you choose. It's available to try in it's current Alpha State now, you can give feedback & influence the direction of the game BUT it is VERY ALPHA.
Squadron 42 is the Single Player Campaign of Star Citizen & the Spiritual Successor of Wing Commander. The Idea is the game is immersive, cinematic, beautiful & seamless... NO LOADING SCREENS once in game.
Both Games are currently in the Alpha of their development.
I am suspecting to see something more mainstream for Star Citizen's PU by the end of 2022/23 with permanent progression, though it will be a while after that before the game is considered "feature complete" which would be closer to 2025 in my opinion.
The are no dates for Squadron 42's Release Yet.
I am an Independent Content Creator & Star Citizen Fan. @BoredGamer is there a discord or group where new players can team up w other new players that is legit? I'm just paranoid since I know scamming or trolling is a posibility.
Plus, I want to be able to start building my career w someone since alone os not as fun right now
A couple of important clarifications!
1. Boost is not just for your forward thrusters. It is for ALL of your thrusters which includes your maneuvering thrusters.
2. While most ship components are pretty much the same, your Quantum Drive definitely is something that you should always upgrade and I always recommend it to be your first ship upgrade. Being able to travel the verse significantly faster and with better fuel economy will make your life soooooo much better!
Edit: Most the ships I fly have size 2 components so for that I recommend the XL-1. It's a life saver. For size 1 I wanna say it's the VK-00 that you want but I can't remember for sure.

@@perfectdiversion Well they do add content updates about every 3 months. So they have that. I think I started playing about 4 years ago. It still interests me and I hope one day they finish it, I really do
3:50 VERY IMPORTANT: When first starting out, or even using a new ship for the first time, use the mousewheel to scroll down while you are in your pre-flight takeoff state. This will reduce your top speed. Keep it roughly halfway between the red/white border. This will help avoid accidents as you get a feel for how your ship handles. Once you are in open air/space, feel free to scroll up with the mousewheel to increase the top speed again.
Great review of the beginner basics, I was incredibly dependant on my more experienced friends and videos like yours when getting started so well done for taking the time to help new players :)

**IMPORTANT** when you’re selecting your primary residence, crusader can be especially hard on frames if you have a lower spec pc. It also has a very large atmosphere so it takes longer to leave. They changed it to be smaller in 3.18, but I’m not sure how much. I’d recommend microtech instead. It tends to get better framerates and the atmosphere is faster to leave.
No one should ever legitimately recommend Orison to a new player. Terrible advice that's been getting more common lately.
@@Runivis agree 100% Some players may find they like Orison for this or that reason, but new players should absolutely never ever for any reason choose it. Orison gives a very bad first impression for an impressionable new player.
I’m pretty new to the game and after watching 5 tutorials on 3.17, I’m surprised boring would recommend orision as a starting point since so many others said it’s a horrible idea

Not a new player, but I appreciate the work putting this together. I remember how steep the learning curve was.
One thing to add: take the Call to Arms mission when you take the basic combat missions.
What are those
@@flamingmilk8266 it's another mission under the mercenary tab, it gives you bonus credits for every criminal you kill. It doesn't matter where they are, so it stacks well with other legal mercenary and bounty hunting missions.

new players will leave out of frustration with the game not working properly FOR DECADES. this game will never see a release it will only become more unstable with every iteration and technical debt will eventually will be the end of it.
