- episode 3 of the malaysia travel adventures! i leave kuala lumpur and jump on a bus to the cameron highlands, a valley much higher in altitude and a lot cooler than the rest of the country. the cameron highlands ended up being one of my favourite places on my whole trip and hopefully this vlog shows you why! here's what i did across 2 days, though there's even more things if you have more time. enjoy :)

How much was the mossy forest entrance ticket price?
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Y’all are brave hiking during monsoon season, landslides are common in Cameron Highlands and can be deadly.
Now you tell me 😮
Besides monsoons and landslides are no match for viola 😂
yeah, we were told trail 10 was the safest of them all and i only wanted to go when it wasn't raining haha
Hey! I'm also planning on backpacking through Malaysia & Borneo for a month this June. Wasn't sure whether to include the Cameron Highlands in my itinerary but this video is really helpful! Was the hike and the trip to the mossy forest & tea plantations organised through the hostel? I'm thinking of spending two nights there, so really only one full day.
Safe travels!
so glad you found it useful!! yes, the mossy forest & tea plantations were part of the (paid) tours offered by the hostel, while the trail hikes are very casual and you just add your name to the list on a chalkboard so people can see who else is going and you go as a group (the hostel just help facilitate those planning on going and help with showing the route etc before we leave). i'd recommend at least two days in the Cameron Highlands because it generally tends to rain in the afternoons so there's not much to do (though that might be because i went during monsoon season and it's different in June but def worth checking!). you can hire a motorbike and explore other parts of the area too as there are other things to see like the night market, strawberry fields and other tea plantations!
@@violahelen_ Thanks for responding! Yeah, I'm still figuring out my exact itinerary & dates - I' know I'll be heading to the Perhentian Islands afterwards to do a diving course, so I'm just figuring out my route.
Safe travels!
