Heyyy 👋🏾 My plateau length had always been around collar bone (shoulder length). After I stopped doing these things, my hair has been growing and I'm aiming for tailbone length by 2027. What's your plateau length?
That's right....
Put some "respect" on the ends of our hair😄😄😄
I like that one.
Facts😊
🤣🤣
My plateau has been shoulder length. I have just gotten past it!
Same as me. Yayyyyy!!!! So happy for you. It'll keep on getting longer and longer.
Hi what did you do to pass your shoulder length, mine is stacked there since May 2023
Thank you! You are helping people sis.
You're welcome 😊
Mine was armpit length. I would wear it out and style my hair every 3 days thinking I was protecting my ends. Then I messed it up by doing a texlax. So I big chopped last September. I have been keeping it moisturrized and started protecting my hair under a head band wig. I came across your videos and I learned to plait and use flaxseed gel at the ends of my hair and I am seeing crazy growth and retention. By the end of this year my hair will be longer than last year before I big chopped it off. Thanks to you sis❤❤❤❤. You are a blessing!!
What an amazing journey!! I'm definitely glad you mentioned about Texlax because I was told it wouldn't really affect my hair. Glad I didn't do it now. It's amazing how just protective styling and putting our ends away does wonders. Can't wait to hear about your growth next year 🙌🏽
And thank you ☺️
@@Natural2020_ A textlax is the same as a relaxer. It's just a weaker form. I only did it once and for a few months it was cute. But I started to notice my hair was getting thinner and my banto knots lost the volume it had. I decided to let it grow out then cut it when I felt comfortable with the length. I hated the way my hair was beginning to look it was lifeless. So I chopped it off and started a new growth journey... fyi 😃
@@Happy2be4c wow just once and it affected your hair so much. Gosh. Well I'm glad you're on a new journey now - no more thin hair for you 🎉
@@Natural2020_ 💕🙏
Hello, is the flaxseed gel on your ends in place of sealing with Shea butter or an oil ?
For me, I plateaued at just above bra strap length. The reason was simple, I did ALL the wrong things for my hair! I started heat stretching after every wash, which was every week at the time. I stopped using coconut oil prior to washing, and I wore my hair out every week AND I combed it dry! 😅 My hair kept getting shorter and shorter. Then, I had to cut a significant amount a couple of years ago from heat damage and just over manipulation. Now I'm back to just about bras strap length. ☺️
Hey 👋🏾 yes, I can see how those practices wouldn't help much. But I'm glad you had a reset and you're past the plateau now. Onwards and upwards from here (well, downwards actually lol)
My plateau is at the collar bone. You and your channel are a blessing! I'm officially subscribed and let you know my progress. I am now in a protective style I will keep in all summer. Your hair looks beautiful Sis!!! Thanks again for your contnent. All the best! 💖💖🙏🏾💖💖🙏🏾✊🏾💕
Same as my plateau. You can definitely get past it. I look forward to hearing of your progress along the way 🙌🏽
I like that, "treat my hair with respect."
This is it sis 👏🏾👏🏾
My plateau length has always been collar bone length while wet AND with shrinkage it always lands at ear length once dry. 😢😢 I will definitely try your tips and come back after 1 yr. Thanks for sharing ❤
Yay, I can't wait to hear of your growth in a year's time. As long as you're consistent, I'm so confident you'll be around armpit length after a year.
Mine is bra strap length. I have realized that I don't moisturize enough like I did in the past, especially in a wash and go. I also began to roller set my natural hair for more of a stretched style. Hair behaves better and holds moisture better too.
Thank you for commenting. Have you been able to get past bra strap length as yet? Ooh I've never tried roller sets but I can definitely see how stretching your hair that way would really help it.
My plateau length is a little above armpit length hoping and praying to God I get past it!
Amen, nothing is impossible with God. I can't wait for you to come back in a year after changing how you handle your hair and it'll be heading towards bra strap length 🙌🏽
Same here!
My hair is stuck at shoulder length, I will start respecting my ends ❤❤❤
Yeah, try it consistently for a while and see how you get on. With some changes, you can definitely see more length 😊
I have past my plateau length now, 4 inches from tailbone length …buuuuutt keeping the front loose is soo hard, it’s now thinner. I like slicked baby hairs high ponytails 🫣 my goal is to thicken the front so I won’t have a mullet by the time I get to tailbone lol
Yay!!! 🎉🎉 That's so cool! Is tailbone length your ultimate goal? Lol I hear the struggle with the front. Can you substitute the slicked edges and ponytails for something else a bit more protective?
@@Natural2020_ thank you 🥹 I would say yes tailbone is my first goal now 😃 I dislike the lose front look on me but I will continue trying to find a style I like and that’s softer to the front of my hair ❤️
@@makemediasounds awesome. Ok yeah, you'll find the right style 🙌🏽
Collarbone is mine. Ugh! Thank you for your help.
Urghh I know the annoyance. Let's get you past that 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Hey, just clocked you have a channel too 🎉 Just subscribed 👋🏽
@@Natural2020_ Omg! Yes, This is my year to do so, I'm claiming it. 🙌🏽🙏🏽
@@Natural2020_ Aww you're so sweet. Thank you Sis. I truly appreciate you. 🙌🏽🤎🥰🌹
My plateau length is still on my nape, but am going to start working on it
You can do. Try and cut out the things in this video and then I just released a new video where I share what I do (in short). That will help you to get past it by this time next year.
@@Natural2020_ OK, I will try it out. Thanks in advance
My plateau has been shoulder length. I have very fine strands, medium density. Even though every single porosity test result indicated my hair was low porosity, when I started treating it like high porosity, I started maintaining more length. I had to add protein treatments. I also believe tucking my ends away and double sealing my ends (flaxseed or botanical gels) helped.
I have heard that the porosity tests aren't really accurate, but that's good that you were able to discover it anyway. Sounds like you're doing well on your journey 🙂
My plateau is shoulder length. I've gotten past it in the past but I had a set back and had to cut it. It had multiple lengths and it's just now getting to be one length. So I know it is growing, just not very fast. Plus I have to color my grey hair which is a demarcation for growth so I used to wash my hair weekly but I'm trying to go every two weeks now or even once a month. I don't use a lot of products so I don't get a lot of build up.
If you've gotten past it before, no doubt you'll do it again 🙌🏽 Trying to get to monthly washes, yes that's so helpful when life is a bit busy and full on. Have you heard of Scoop and Spread? I learned the technique from Green Beauty. If I occasionally need to stretch wash day another week, I do a process called scoop and spread which helps.
Yes I have heard of the scoop and spread technique from Green Beauty. I'm trying....I think it's growing but I just need to stop watching it so closely. Do the same routine and regimen consistently and growth will be the result. Thanks for responding.
Hi sisi, do you see short hair on the floor now that you are busy doing your hairl? I do use combs and brushes but on wash days I use my fingers to remove shaded hair and knots on my hair but I always notice short hair on top of my dressing table and on the floor.
I don't use combs and hair brushes
I I don't use combs and hair brushes
Heya, I certainly don't notice a lot of short/broken hairs, whether that's on the floor, table or on my top. I too wasn't using combs or brushes for a little while, and I may return to things being that way but I'm not absolutely strict on it at this stage.
You can also inspect the hair that falls out for a bulb at the end. Shed hair will have a whiteish bulb at the end, if not, then it's most likely breakage.
That's correct. I mentioned this around 8:19 😊
My hair is stuck at mid back length. My hair began to grow around a year after I did my big chop but suddenly it seems like it’s not growing anymore. I keep my hair moisturized and rarely straighten it. I keep my hair in mini twist and am very careful on washdays.
@@christianagallow7383 Hey, oh that's interesting. I wonder why that's happening. How do you care for the ends of your hair specifically?
@@Natural2020_ I keep my hair in mini twists and have recently gotten a trim
@@christianagallow7383 ok I was thinking specifically just the ends. So for example for me, though my hair is in mini twists, my ends aren't twisted, they're twirled. My ends get twice as much moisture when I remoisturise. I apply flaxseed gel to seal my ends, I tuck them away and rarely wear my hair out/down. Those kinds of things.
Shoulder length, stuck there for years
Oh no 😮 Did you recognise a few things in this video that you're currently doing?
Collar bone length for me 😢
What is it about collar bone length loool. I reckon you'll get passed in a year if you're really consistent with things.
It’s shoulder length for me😪
I 100% feel you! For nearly thirty years I thought shoulder length was the longest my hair could be.
There was no satin scarf for me, pure stocking foot 😂😂!
Omg yessss looool. Stocking foot and bandanas or nothing 🤣🤣
My hair at the back of head😢.. seems not to grow.. what can I do?
Hey, hmm. It's hard to say really but a few typical culprit would be: how do you typically wear your hair? Is the back rubbing on your clothes, pillows, chairs or anything like that? Do you keep it in a protective style? Do you wash and moisturise your hair regularly?
@@Natural2020_ mostly I sleep on my back maybe that could be the reason,, it's always in a protective style because I'm trying to retain length plus I do moisturize.
@@lwendobanda2986 maybe that's it. But if your hair is covered with a satin or silk scarf, I wouldn't have thought sleeping on your back would prevent length retention. Have you tried hair growth oils and massaging daily? If not, you could try doing that regularly for a about a month and see if you notice even a small difference.
@@Natural2020_ thanks 😘
The nape of my head has been really thinning. I believe the culprit to actually be, wearing my scarves to tight. Started using a satin pillow case instead, and I am seeing some improvement.
My plateau is collarbone and then it begins to break off 😢
😢😢 argh, I totally resonate. Were there any things in this video that you realise you have been doing? If so, let's change that and get you past your plateau.
Shoulder length
Let's get you past that 😊
