Engineer has become my new favorite class and the award shotty is a lot of fun to go blasting with
Engineer is really fun, I'm just not a fan of their trooper armor outside of the Clone Pilot on Geonosis or the AT-AT Pilot on Hoth & both Rhen Var maps. It isn't a deal breaker, but the cool designs are part of the fun of Star Wars.
Honestly, I don't feel hardly any difference between the regular shotgun and the award
It's really just rng, sometimes the basic shotgun can get one hit kills just as easily as the flechette. Now try using the blast cannon from BF1 and tell me that was a good shotgun lol.

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I prefer to follow just bullet points if anything, and doing it live like this can add additional info that I couldn't script. I have also worked for several jobs where we had a script to read, and it just feels so fake to me.
Engineer is legit base class S tier
The bonuses also apply in space. I might be wrong but I think destroying part of ship or a frigate gives you 18 points and destroying fighter might be 3. (Same points your team gets towards victory).
Also as the think you can use award riffle, pistol. No idea but maybe you can get extra healing via pilot + technician.
I actually mentioned this during the space combat videos coming out. Also it's 20 points per captial ship part.
It's been super fun relearning and remembering how all this works but this vid was super helpful

I had a friend that commit to a demolition playstyle on the OG BF2. Once he got to legendary with it and damage boost, he became extremely annoying. Imagine you're on Hoth playing Empire and you keep getting pelted by Predator Missiles. And let's say you manage to actually push to Echo Base. This dude is sitting on top of the ammunition droid firing repeatedly. 😂
That would be annoying. I'd be making a call to the AT-AT on that one haha.
Engineer is legit S tier out of all the base classes in each faction in my opinion, and whats funny is that im an engineer irl, haha 😂
Engineer is fantastic, love the shotgun, self healing, droid repairs, and det packs. The only thing I don't like about it's playstyle is no grenades. I feel like they are a necessity for a shooter.
The main reason I don't play them as my main is because I don't like the troopers used for the Engineer except the Phase 1 Clone Pilot on Geonosis and the AT-AT Pilot on Hoth and Rhen Var.
@@MasterMarik understandable tbh everyone has there own favorite designs, and about the thermal grenades your right, that would make the class op but I guess they gave em det instead just to balance them more tbh! Still though when playing online on the classic collection on bf 2 online on the xbox series x most servers have friendly fire off so people spam det but most of all they spam the heavy class with mines and rocket launchers, also fun fact tlabout the engineer, the engineer does not activate enemy planted mines and can destroy them using the fusion cutter!
Oh yeah, it'd be too busted. Friendly fire has to be off sadly, especially in a game like Battlefront. Accidental betrayals are funny in Halo, but online they are usually intentional for something stupid and it ruins the game. Heavy and Engineer are always going to be busted online, but depending on the map a good assault or sniper could deal with them pretty handily.

The only award weapon I actually like better than the weapon it replaces is the award rifle. (not the sniper)
The elite rifle is so good, feels like a Star Wars version of a Battle Rifle haha. Are you not a fan of the precision pistol or do you just not use the pistol that often?
@@MasterMarik I guess it's more that I don't use pistols often enough to get the hang of it.
That's fair, I'm probably just used to switching to my second weapon as it's faster than reloading during a firefight.
@@MasterMarik I always just reload manually after every individual firefight so that I rarely have to in the middle of one.
I do as well, but that isn't always an option. All my hours playing Halo has taught me that the hard way.
I had over a thousand of the gunslinger and frenzy medals on my original ps2 account. Loved those 2 award weapons. Kid me never liked shotguns so i never got legendary on that weapon. And i was terrible at sniping wich is a shame because i love that award beam sniper so much.
The Elite Rifle and the Precision Pistol are so damn good. That pistol feels so good to use when playing as the Jet/Dark Trooper. The shotgun is good, but yes I love using the Beam Rifle too. Works so much better as a close range weapon though.
@@MasterMarik running around with the sniper like a slug shotty is how i play it anyway. The beam sniper is great for that kind of playstyle, paired with the op pistol you are damage dealing powerhouse.
For actual sniping wich i only do on 2 or 3 maps at most it sucks and youre better off using the default sniper
I like to run around with both the Sniper and Beam Rifle like that. Easy enough to kill most infantry with both.
I just finished putting all my medals into Legendary status. I feel it is needed before I head to online play or facing against friends on Splitscreen
That will work for split screen, but online has its own medals so they don't transfer over.
@@MasterMarik oh.... I've never played online, whether it's on my PS2 or my new system, so forgive me for not knowing... Could you make a video that describes how online play is set up?
Yeah, I definitely can. I believe I may be streaming in a couple hours, so if we end up streaming Battlefront you could tune in and see how it all works.
For whatever reason, sometimes when I get the Elite pistol or rifle awards, I'm not actually awarded the new weapon. I keep switching, but nothing changes. No idea why this happens, maybe a bug?
Is this happening online or offline?
It's bugged currently. That or it was an intentional (highly unlikely) change after the most recent console patch .
It's bugged to not keep your weapon after earning it like it's supposed to, but I haven't seen the weapon just straight up not get awarded before.
Can you get legendary status online? Or are you permanently stuck at veteran?
I believe you could still level them up online. I plan to check this weekend hopefully.
By the way, what counts as a "Critical Hit" on a vehicle?
A critical hit is when you hit a specific part of the vehicle, where upon impact the reticle gets that forked design on screen. Crit points include the neck of the AT-AT, the back of the AAT, and various tanks on other vehicles.

Is it just me or did they break the award weapons offline. I got legendary in gunslinger, demolition, and endurance yet I never spawn in with those bonuses at the beginning of the game. If I hit the streak once i get it permanently for the rest of the match which isn't that big of an issue other than for demolition cuz that shit sucks.
The latest patch broke the award weapon system. You have to earn them in game to get them, which is mostly frustrating for Pistol and Rifle. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon.
@@MasterMarik Dangit Dude, I agree I hope they fix it soon the award system was one of the only things keeping me hooked on this new collection.
I'm still working on the rest of the achievements in between finishing videos but hopefully it'll be soon. I just want to play with friends online.

You cannot use the award weapons ONLINE. After hours of grinding I discovered this to my disappointment. If this is why you are unlocking them, please don’t waste your time.
Correct, that's why I mentioned online having separate medals.

Haha you ain't lying, I edited the numbers that way to go along with the explanations of how many are needed for each medal rank. I just didn't bother changing the Legendary number from my main profile, still trying to get all the BF recordings edited and uploaded so I cut a corner there in not editing that part haha.

Now on a serious note, appreciate the video, I had the award guns as a kid but never knew how I got them
I'd like to think I sound smarter haha. I have had them maxed on my OG Xbox, again on my 360, and then AGAIN on my Xbox One. Needless to say, I can't forget how to get them lol.
My god is the beam rifle is terrible, its hitbox is so inconsistent
It's something with the coding iirc. When zoomed in, the beam isn't lined up with the center of the reticle, making it extremely difficult for sniping at long range. It is accurate when unscoped though, so you can run around and headshot with it at closer ranges, but that's kinda irrelvant since the beam will one shot anyways and the pistol does a better job at precision headshots at close range.
Hey there! Thanks a ton for explaining all this! I do have one question though. Once you earn the medal (getting 12 kills with the rifle for example) do you have to die in order to earn it again? If I wanted to grind getting the rifle, can I just keep earning the medals in one life?
No, sadly you can't. If you want to grind the medals I do have a strategy for you. Video should be up soon. :D

As a kid I never figured out that you could keep these weapons if you reached 64 medals. Jumping on the classic collection I can now take full potential of them!
Oh no problem. I try to keep up with and reply to all comments across my channel. Always been and always will be a Battlefront fan. Hoping they'll make a new one one day that will combine elements from the OG games and from BF2 2017.
@@MasterMarik That would honestly be incredible! As long as EA doesn't have a say in it, it would surely be a hit! Just came off bf2 2005 after some online games, it's definitely picking up traction!
EA is pretty cancerous, but so are most companies now sadly. That's good to hear though, hopefully I'll have some good matches next time I'm on.
