    Thank you so much for the coloring tips. At the age of 32, I've finally discovered my passion for drawing- my goal is to create my own yuri mangas paper and digital. I've purchased a couple ' how to draw manga' books. Just drew my first couple of full on characters, and for a while I was struggling with coloring. Your video helped me resolve this issue. Thank you so much for sharing :)

    I didn't expect to hear such a great message from you in the end of the video. I've been exactly through that, even though manga drawing was like breathing to me since I was a child but lost my passion for many reasons (started with a blockade) and went on for years. I just started again and it feels so good to work on a drawing and finish it. I take progress pictures just cause I'm excited to see what an simple idea can turn into. YES, your video was very inspirational, it's good to know that someone out there knows exactly how I feel, let's keep up the fun for drawing!

I know that I'm bad at drawing but in that day I started to draw a beautiful piece (architecture,places,clothes,human positions, etc) thank you for those tips I don't know how to say it but ur tips showed me the way, sorry for my bad English

    I wanted to thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. I am nineteen years old and drawing has always been in my life but not in my priorities. Recently manga has become one of my favorite pastimes it just brings up so much adventure and emotion that simply put I fell in love with the art and the stories. I have written short stories since very young but now I would like to illustrate them, take the narrative to a more visual medium. Studying for a BBA full time takes a large chunk of my time but I will keep at it. I know that me not being completely submerged in the art world really takes away any understanding I could hope to have of other artist situations, non the less I felt your words. Keep up the great work you are doing and thanks once again!

    Thank you so much for this video, it inspired me a lot. I also draw, well, no. Actually, I should draw, cause i have an idea for a comic, but work makes me too tired. I'm in a bit of a chaotic situation right now, renting a room and getting established again in Sweden. I work nights. Also, I make techno music, so I've been focusing on that mostly. But I also want to draw. It's so frustrating, because I want to draw well, but that takes practice. So, I feel you about getting anxiety and depression when work takes up so much time and drains your energy. There's these things you want to create, yet life gets in the way. I learned about Copic markers from you btw! Hard to find in Sweden, but not impossible. Very pricey, though. Keep making these awesome videos!

    I have a question? so.um..first off you are adorable!!!! And second does adding more like details to a drawing make it look better? what do you think?

    • @soul8087
      @soul8087 Před 3 lety

      I’m 4 years late but whatever. No, more details don’t guarantee a better drawing. You might add so much that the details can’t be seen unless you really zoom in. That means when you’re viewing it normally, the details just look like a weird blob or random squiggly lines, which overall looks awkward.
      Too much detail can also take attention away from the main focal point of the drawing. You don’t want want to distract the audience from the important parts of your work. When people view art, their eyes will follow a certain flow, if that makes since. You can direct this flow with how your art is laid out. Disrupting this flow can make it awkward or uncomfortable for the people viewing your work, and too much detail could do that.
      There’s no set rule for how much detail you’re allowed to add. It depends on things like your style, the size of the canvas, how this will look if you’re posting it online (if it’s on the phone the canvas will be much smaller than on the computer or tablet.) and things like that. So you need to judge these things on your own. Or ask someone to look at what you have so far and see what needs to be changed.
      None of this matters if you’re drawing for yourself for fun. Go crazy and do whatever you want. But if your art is for school or work, then you need to watch what you’re doing.
      Sorry I’m (kinda) late to the party. You probably have learned most of this already but if you haven’t, I hope I helped.

    I don't know much about manga. If an artist was to draw a manga that was to be published it is all done by hand? If so, is that why they are not coloured in on the inside pages, because it would be too time consuming?

    • @navimana
      @navimana Před 10 lety +5

      Well, in Japan manga are usually published weekly, like, 1 chapter comes out every week(or month etc), and the artist has to draw a whole chapter in a week(or month)-which is usually 20-40 pages. But they have to plan the chapter first. They have to plan out their chapter, create storyboards, discuss with their editor and draw the whole thing+effects. They usually have 1-3 assistants to help but it still is very time-consuming. The artist is usually told about the colour pages(like the ones you see in a manga book that takes up 2 pages) a few weeks in advance so they can have time to work on it. Being a manga artist is very time-consuming and difficult. Hope this helped :)
