- A quick battle report for a throw-together game I ran to entertain two people who have not wargamed before. Mini-Warmaster was good for this as it kept the number of stands low while also allowing us to play this on the dining table (about 70x85 cm, or about 2.5x3 ft).
Looks really fun. Great paint jobs too!
Thank you! Leaving tomorrow for 2 weeks away from home, but will do more when I get back.
Nice!
Have you looked into the To the Strongest! ruleset? Very good for beginners, multiplayer and it's both scale and base agnostic :)
(there's also a fan made fantasy supplement for all your warmaster figures!)
No, I haven’t. This game wasn’t really about putting some new people in the path to wargaming; it was more about keeping them entertained for a while with what I had on hand 😊. But thanks for the lead, I’ll go take a look.
@@OnTheGamingTable It's a great game for non-newcomers as well but it's very easy to get going :)
Cool. Will take a look later today.
So mini warmaster plays by the same rules except measurements cut in half. One stand equals a unit, but if a unit is 3 stands, how do you remove stands from the unit? Keep track with dice, I guess, or is there a different way. Also, I love your channel and report's I'm gladyou'rer still doing warmaster stuff
Thanks for the question. There's kind of two ways of doing this. On the Warmaster FB group, there have been posts about 'Warmaster Skirmish' which is basically reducing all units from 3 stands to 1 stand, and then pretty much play as normal.
For this 'Mini-Warmaster' idea, I used that idea of '1 unit = 1 stand' and also reduced all measurements to half, primarily to allow play on a smaller table. For casualties, just play it like normal Warmaster. Sor Dark Elf Spearmen are 3 wounds, and if they have this many at the end of a phase, they are removed.
For balance, there's also a couple of other modifications for overall balance (based on testing so far) mentioned in this video: czcams.com/video/MLgFrVf08vU/video.html If you like I can do a more complete writeup of these and share the document somewhere. (Still testing a few ideas in play)
Love this. Tiny hammer always pleases me. Are those houses scratch built, 3d prints, or retail?
Thanks for the comment. The figures are all 3D prints from Forest Dragon.

The figures I am familiar with, as I have his high & wood elf packs. I was referring to the houses specifically.
Oh, sorry, I missed the word 'houses'... They are from Cromarty Forge: cromartyforge.gumroad.com/l/FarmsAndWalls?layout=profile
@@OnTheGamingTable wonderful thank you!
