- This John Deere 1050 tractor was being driven and overheated on the operator. Operator checked the coolant when the engine cooled down and noticed most of the water was gone. The oil level was checked and was found that the coolant had leaked into the crankcase as the oil was grey and the oil level rose by ~2 inches! Yikes! What happened? Watch and find out! We take the cylinder head off, examine the head gasket as well as pull the cylinder liners out to see where the failure is at. This video will also be a general reference to the John Deere 850 and 950 models as well.
I felt bad for you when you were tying to get the exhaust manifold off, there is no way it could get worse than that, right? WRONG! My heart sank for you when the new head gasket was leaking. You took it better than I would have. Glad you left the video here. That's some of the reasons I like you, you make mistakes like the rest of us, you have MANY of the same tools I do, and you keep it real. Thank you.
Absolutely. I had a few choice words when I learned I had the wrong gasket. I just had to sit there for an hour and cool off and re-research what went wrong. Most welcome sir 👍🏼
Hot diggity damn! Three hours of old junk and Mr SM blabbering on! Just the right recipe for a rainy sunday!
New channel banner is very nice!
I like that banner too 👌🏼. We will get back to old yeller soon. Glad I could entertain ya for a minute…or 180 minutes haha🤣.
Great video matey keep it up makes my sunday afternoon enjoyable 😊
👍Tractors, trucks, I enjoy them both. Yanmar made great diesel engines.
Yanmar are great power plants. Tough little buggers 🙂
Like to see the Allis Chalmers tune up this summer
I’ll see what I can do for you Robbie my boy 😌
Of course, the ford pickup "Old Yeller" has priority 😊
Yessss. We will get back to it shortly😉
On studs, and running a turbo... those manifold studs are welded in. Better if they were bolts not studs. Studs easier to mount... never good for an extended time dismount. Like you said, heat fixes most domestic situations... except arguments with the wife... keep cool!
Peace my dude! 🙂✌🏼
Case DC... Case DC... Case DC! Probably not a 1959... a 49 maybe... probably earlier... oil up the engine and tackle later this summer!
Haha someone is a Case fan. 😁 I’ll make a note of that. I think the DC is a 51 but I would have to pull the numbers off of it. 💪🏼
Yep, have a Case 300 round nose with 5ft bush mower and a Case 930 diesel I haven't heard run yet. Life to busy... live vicariously through you!@@SwedeMachine
