It is kinda weird how bombers in this game act more like they have modern precision guided ammunition than some dudes looking through a shitty lense and estimating where the enemy is.
I saw this one video that said that the bombers and World War II were mostly used for morale bombing in that the main point wasn’t to kill them but it lower there morale and the British even had morale charts for bomding but don’t quit me on that
Or in World War I when they use them too just get people to leave the trenches and get into the bunkers for the assault
@@DawrinChawes Bombers definitely killed a good number of people. It was not just morale. The main purpose of tactical bombing was to kill the enemy and yes also route them. But they definitely went for causing actual damage and did suceed.
The problem is here the bombers are just hyper accurate. And also just do a little too much damage to tanks. Tanks being destroyed by bombs was pretty rare yet it happens constantly in this game. The issue is that the whole system is basically a copy of wargame. But in wargame always accurate air support makes *some* sense. In a WW2 setting it does not.
I mean it's to a point that bombers are one of the best ways to deal with tanks. Which is super inaccurate.
Flak is also not nearly as effective as it should be. All it does really is route the planes after a while. But it does nothing to interfere with the attack run. When in reality flying straight at a line of AA even if it's just four Maxims stuck together was daunting at best and suicidal often times. At the very least it would be extremely difficult to land a good shot under such conditions. Yet here it's like they are laser guided or something.
+cooper hawes Bombers were ridiculously effective ar sea. Land-based airfields were some of the biggest threats fleets faced since at least you can sink an aircraft carrier, not so much an island. You just had to avoid them or bring your own air support.
The effectiveness of ALL aircraft is significantly buffed along the board. Reason? Players won't purchase them otherwise. Imagine needing 10 sorties to take out a tank with rockets or 5 to take out light tank with cannons?
Dive Bombs tend to be more accurate
But yes its as if they're all using the fritz X as Bombs considering the accuracy in game

yea its an old nazi talking point about "the asiatic hordes", in terms of how manpower was used, the Russians were no more wasteful than Germans.

The actual basic commanders on the soviets were real shitty, but youre right about how the Soviets wouldnt just throw a thousand men into the meat grinder for no reason, they would only do it out of incompetence instead. (yes obviously, there were plenty of competent Russian Generals, but Stavka wasnt exactly brilliant and so many dudes got shot by their government that they had to get pretty green commanders most of the time)

Bo complaining about AA not killing planes but doesn't realize that's literally intended in the game, AA suppresses and fighters kill
AA guns of that era were barely even intended to shoot down the planes. Don't get me wrong, if they could they did, but unless a plane was flying basically straight at you or super low, hitting it was really hard with unguided AA fire of the time. AA was indeed more about suppression, if you can fill the air with flak, they have to fly higher to stay out of danger, so would be less accurate with their bombs, couldn't strafe effectively, and you could try make bombers drop their loads early to avoid being in danger too long.
And only using maxim on top of that.

@@selectionn Most major countries used MGs as AA at first because it was enough against the smaller planes of the 30s but eventually were forced to use autocannons, just like how planes went from MGs to cannons

You know that the USSR had bigger AA guns than maxim-trucks at the beginning of the war right? 37mm and 85mm were already in use.

The people who created the game were paid when the created the game you are only paying a publisher. The animators,coders,designers,artists get paid a salary while they work, they don't get paid extra if you buy the game once its out.

Bo complaining about I-16's, an historically bad aircraft within WW2, "Why is the bomber out pacing me???" Bo your plane doesn't even have cannons and you expect it to actually be useful. It's almost as if the Germans had total air superiority at the beginning of the war.
I-16 wasn't "bad". Obsolete - sure, yet, it was used through 1941 and 1942 and was pretty capable to at least combat german bombers. As for cannons... I-16 type 28 (which is the one in the video) has two 20mm guns which makes it kinda useful in a dogfight scenario.
@@mdokuch96 then the i16 was still a bad aircraft compared to what it went up against? Sure it might not have been a bad aircraft when it was first introduced but it was at the start of ww2. It did perform well against he 51 and other bi planes but after 1939 it was objectively bad.

Everyone talks about the tanks, but when Germany had to rebuild their army after Barbarossa they decided to focus on planes first at the expense of tanks.
