My father came home from school in a rickshaw and was being overcharged for the journey. The family's Chinese cook came out picked up a brick and hit the man over the head killing him. In a fully developed bureaucracy there is nobody left with whom one could argue, to whom one could present grievances, on whom the pressures of power could be exerted. Bureaucracy is the form of government in which everybody is deprived of political freedom, of the power to act; for the rule by Nobody is not no-rule, and where all are equally powerless we have a tyranny without a tyrant.”

A tyranny of the many is worse than a tyranny of one for this very reason.
A tyranny of the one (or the few) has finite points for redress. A tyranny of the masses makes anyone and everyone eligible for that redress -- anyone of any age... because the child of today is your prison guard tomorrow in a gulag masquerading as a nation-state.
China won't survive this for the same reason they never became world powers. Every revolution ends with a repressive and intolerant new order which contains the seeds of the next revolution from its very beginning.
If the business "leaders" in the US didn't foolishly deindustrialize us via offshoring, China would've never possessed the resources and intellectual property to do what they've done to their own people.
Even so, our deindustrialization has militarily crippled the US into a 2nd tier world power -- after Russia. With all the West providing arms for Ukraine, the weapons supplies are running out for Ukraine... while growing without bound for Russia.
Our business "leaders" destroyed US hegemony with their greed. This is poetic justice... though at the cost of most of the Chinese people.
The US can either reindustrialize or kiss any hope of global dominance goodbye. If we do reindustrialize, China will collapse.
But those who run the US are neither wise nor intelligent. They will continue upon their Quixotic quest for ego gratifying blood-baths, while throwing away the power they require to achieve them.
The US was the only global hegemon... until we thought we could fight Russia and survive. Our loss has exposed the Emperor's new clothes. You can only remain the global hegemon as long as the world believes you are. When the rest of the world smells blood in the water, hegemony is going to be impossible to sustain.
This is the classic mistake every would-be conqueror makes -- they attack Russia on Russia's doorstep.
I wish our leaders could've understood that the industry at home was the root of their dominance and they forbade corporations from moving industry. But really, the end of the nation was when the Not-So-Supreme-Court ruled that corporations were people and money was speech. Once money could buy the Empire, the Empire would hollow itself out to the command of the highest bidder -- foreign or domestic.
This was the root of how our Empire surrendered its power.

I visited Sakura-jima, the most active volcano in Japan. I was at this one observation point and there was a group of Chinese tourists. Mostly Chinese in their 50s and 60s I would say.
Up to this concrete observation deck led a spiral concrete stair. When one of the men wanted to decline from the observation deck he stumbled and smashed his face right onto the concrete stairs. He's entire face was bleeding and covered the stairs in blood. But not a single one of the other Chinese dared to help him to get up. I was like: "Seriously, do I need to be the one to help him up"
He got up by himself after a while and one or two of his Chinese fellow travelers helped him but they ignored him for so long >.<
The lack of empathy among Chinese is extreme.

There's a big reason for that. I don't remember the specifics, but years ago a woman was injured and bleeding in the middle a street in China and a man came to help her. The problem was afterwards. Since China has no Good Samaritan laws, the woman sued the man who helped her and she won the case. So since then, no one will help another person in China out of fear of persecution by the person they were trying to help.

    • @YuckFouTube2

Well China has a law where you can be legally in trouble if you help someone. I guess people would fake an injury and when someone would help, the person faking would sue and win, so eventually people stopped helping strangers bc they don't want to get sued. South Korea has something similar with young (under 14) trouble makers, some law from the 1950's says those under 14 get a slap on the wrist, so gangs recruit kids and they do horrible things to strangers and no one helps. It happens in the states too, I've checked on lots of addicts laying on the ground/sidewalk/street and some guy tried to attack my dog, so I just leave them now.

This has long been the way. "revenge against society" is a term used in legal defenses for many generations. the perceived callousness is part of societal make up in China. "life is hard, death is easy" is hundreds of years old or more. In the early 2000's I found a man on the side of the road in a small 3rd tier city. At first i thought he was sleeping but his head was against the curb at an angle and instinctively i knew what i was looking at. A city guard appeared and walked over and tapped the guy in the head with is shoe while talking on the radio and with barely an expression told the person on the other end they had a body. He looked at me blankly and asked what i was still doing there. "life is hard, death is easy" No one is coming to save you

It actually is. The chance of this dying this way is very, very low. They clearly don't know how to deal with mental health issues, and likely don't even believe it's a thing - due to culture and shame. Trust me when I say this, the US and Europe are more dangerous than China. China is dangerous for losing your money with dodgy business dealing or speaking against the government - but it is actually very low in violent crime

As a Chinese living in Canada, I want to thank you for helping in showing the world what China really is about. The fact that you don’t care about the money shows how important it is to you. You have all my respect, gratitude and support. Continue your amazing content, I’ll be watching them.

What are the odds of the same happening in Richmond BC, like the dismembered body of a Chinese wealthy guy? One who butchered another man for his house in Vancouver a few years ago?
      Basic biatches.
You can take a man out of China but ..

...makes sense now. Why they're so vehement on being seen as the best country in Hollywood movies...I almost cried. Scratch that. I'm this close to bursting. At this rate, something drastic will happen that will irrevocably change the course of the country. For the better or the worse.

Very Great Video. Especially what i like this video is you mentioned their "Envy culture", not just calling "everything is CCP's fault". That's very important point to understand what China's true nature really is.

Whenever I talk to mainland Chinese I have the feeling they think China "deserves" to be in a better position, that all that happens there is a fault of the West (the Century of Humiliation).
Like they don't understand that the road to improvement leads through… improvement, not cheating. As if they don't want to do the work, but expect results because they deserve.

Communism and oppression from autocratic regimes does that to the human spirit. This was the entitled atitude of many Russians and East Germans after the fall of the USSR, and of some refugees who flee to Europe from Syria, Afghanistan etc.

Well forcing China to allow opium dens in the opium war, sure doesn't make the West look good.
