West Coast and Richmond are examples of a more equal competition and how quickly a team can fall from top to bottom. But when you see 4-5 years of dominance, it's a transition AFL fans and experts are getting used to. Because a Premiership team doesn't drop from 1st to 5th and 9th so on anymore. It's 2024 and you only have to go back to 2018 with the Eagles and Tigers winning 3 flags collectively and they currently sit 16th and 17th on the ladder.
