      I was born decades after this was shot and only saw it 2 months ago for the first time. I was SO hooked on these songs, including opening Bye Bye Birdie, and then "One Boy", and "One last kiss". Man, it's like that THING that's missing in today's music.

I don't think Elvis could have done any better! Besides, I read that when Elvis and Anne met, sparks didn't immediately fly. Conrad made her faint during their first encounter!

      Of course Rydell was a bigger star. Jesse Pearson's career never really took off despite his sexy good looks and nice singing voice. He died at 49 in 1979. He went home to Louisiana with his hood "friend" and died at his mother's house.

    • @eloiseockert9233
      @eloiseockert9233 Před 10 měsíci +1

      Neither one was great looking. Also Bobby Rydell had a crush on Ann Margaret. She was going to be introduced to the Kennedy's and he lied to her as she wanted her parents with her. He informed her the Kennedy invite was for both of them not her choice to invite her parents. She believed him & too late found out that wasn't true.
      Also, originally, the part of Conrad was meant for Elvis Presley but he did not want to do the role.

    It kinda puts you in mind of grease but more innocent. Wonder if this movie inspired the grease movie
    BTW he sounds, moves and dances NOTHING like elvis which makes it even funnier as a parody

      I heard that TPTB we're really concerned about him, ah, gyrating that pelvis too much! When he was singing "Honestly Sincere" he did some pretty suggestive moves, but I guess the cameras cut away in time. When Elvis was on Ed Sullivan, he was filmed from the waist up. No bumping and grinding allowed on national television!

      I looked up Jesse Pearson and he was born in 1930. The movie was released in 1963. Probably was filmed in 1962. He was 32 or 33 at the time. It makes me laugh because my mom was born in 1929, and she had NO AFFINITY for rock music! It was big band or nothing for her!
