  • @jamesluther3506

I see a lot more old V6 mustangs on the road than the V8 model. I bought my 2001 mustang in 2014 and have been using it everyday since.😊

  • @matthewgilmore5307

my 2000 v6 mustang has 247,000 miles and no noises or problem. i could beat the GT on a cannon ball run as i fly bye them gasing up ! GT is fun but for what the v6 is and my budget, hey !

I blew a V6 motor back in the day, me and a buddy were racing eachother through a small town and i floored it the entire time in a low gear with almost redline RPM and within about 15 minutes i felt a huge drop in power and it started knocking, i kept driving it like that until the knock was so loud it threw a rod lol so yeah its possible to blow them up. It had 180,000 miles on it with cheap oil, could of had another internal issue i didnt know about like bad oil pump or pick up... I have a 2002 GT now and it's not super fast but i love how the 4.6 sounds... v6 is a good daily

I drive my 01 V6 for the fact that people hate them!

  • @xkcash_238

I got a 97 3.8 with just a flowmaster and it sounds like a V8. Just don’t straight pipe a V6 Mustang and get an actual exhaust system or else it’ll sound like a V6.

Couldn’t agree more with everything you said in this video. I myself have a 2011 3.7 v6 with intake, exhaust, gears, headers and tune and it’s a real fun car. At the end of the day i could sell this car tomorrow for 10k and buy a clean 2v or 3v v8 and not spend anything additional out of pocket but I choose not to cause it’s my car and I like it. No one else’s opinion matters about YOUR car and if other people don’t like it it’s not your problem

What is interesting about the later model 3.8L found in the New Edge Mustangs is that its only 12 hp less than the prior FOX body 5.0L V8. Further, if one were to make some simple upgrades (cold air intake and updated exhaust) the 3.8L, hp would increase 8 to 10 percent (16 to 20) hp. which is slightly more than that 5.0L.

  • @jaredpaulsen3

My 2002 v6 new edge almost pushing 300k miles with no problems

  • @Wedontbend

    great vid i have a built 02 3.8l superchared v6 making lil over 420hp 390whp

  • @avgFloridian

The later ones tend to be better. I had a few of the earlier ones (1984). One was blown when I got it (could hear the rod bouncing off the oil pan), and another blew the head gaskets. The current one seems to be solid. Good daily driver. Terrible mileage. 😅 I am just going to keep cleaning this one up and driving it until the truck is drivable, then sell it. The biggest downside is finding replacement parts for the V6 cars. A lot of stuff isn't available, and half of what is costs three times as much as the V8 stuff. My neighbor with a V6 Firebird from the same era has the same problem.

  • @HangmanSwingset

I have a not so stock 1989 5.0 hatchback and a 1996 sixer with a 2000 split port engine swapped in. The fox body feels slower until you lay on the pedal, but for some reason the V6 just
