- This was our second trip to Shell Island this year. As with most places in the Uk you cant always count on the weather being in your favor and we did have some heavy downpours, but between the showers we managed to visit the beach, catch some crabs, have trip out to a local town and as always finishing the day off with a campfire.

Been to shell island a few times went camping for a week end of May years a nd years ago rained for the hole week .but it is a beautiful place thank you for sharing ❤ brings back memories of my late husband and my 2nd eldest son he was 10 at the time he is now 35 .xthank you ❤

Never been to shell ...but seen many say it's brill.....will have to go once the car is replaced with a van , Dawlish warren is our next trip.👍
Just came back from Leadstone campsite at Dawlish warren really good site only five mins walk from the warren highly recommend this site if you haven’t booked one yet .
Love shell island. That’s what it’s all about. Even though it was peeing it down u still got out, improvised and made a fire. Way more enjoyable than stuck in the tent. Plus the Stella always helps 😂.
Haha i was about 6 Stellas in at that point so it seemed a very complicated task to carry out in my mind 😂 but definitely worth the effort as the clouds also cleared a bit later on when it was dark and the stars where unreal.

We’ve always fancied this site but heard mixed reviews on groups keeping you up all night.

Haha ive been working on the ping.
We have been probably 15 times over the last 5-6 years, we go at least once a year and sometimes more ( we will be going at least 3 times this year).
Its a brill place especially for the van, the place is massive with no pitch reservations so you can pick a quiet little spot. Theirs a bar, camp shop, mini supermarket ect. The only thing is no electric hook up be its never stopped us.
You should defiantly try it you wont be disappointed. If you can go mid week you could probably get a spot over looking the sea and if you get one of the sunsets you will have some IG bangers lol. Honestly its one of them places somebody tells you about and its not until you go do you understand.

Love the little cinematic sections you do, down on the beach etc. Do you use a different camera and mic for doing that?... would love to make some family vids in that style. Really enjoying chipping away at your vids in my downtime 🙂
Its all the same camera, its a canon M50 with a Sigma lens. I watch a lot film making tutorials and things on CZcams so i can add them in 👍

Hi, Yes we are all fine thank you hope you are well also., we go to a site called Bryn Gloch in North Wales in a couple of week for 3 nights which i should be able to film, i do have some Van related videos coming as well and maybe another camp video a bit later in the year when we have finalized the booking.

We were camping last weekend had a brilliant time until i realised i had left the car keys in the tent after it was all packed away and then in the procress of retrieving them i ripped the bloody roof so sadly any more trips are off our agenda until i can get it sorted. Im looking forward to the uploads......I really hope the weather stays on your side though from watching past uploads I expect rain at some point. 🙈
Hi, whereabouts is the funfair nearby I’m going to Shell Island next week with my 4 year old. Also can you recommended any other good sites around that area we’re trying to do a week in North wales. Me and my partner, 4 year old daughter and twins who are 4 month old!

The little funfair is in Barmouth, which is about a 15 min drive from the island. There are a few campsites around that are but none that we have actually stayed other than Shellisland, there is one at the end of the road heading to Shellisland which i think is called Nancot campsite, but there are others as you drive into Shellisland.

We’re going here in a couple of weeks, my partner, who’s never camped before in his life, and a 2 year old and a 7 month old! I’m a bit nervous… what are your must haves for camping?
Hi, Shell Island is a wide open site exposed to the sea which makes it both brilliant and hard work depending on what weather you experience, but i think on a basic level the must haves are a good sleeping bag or some way of making sure your warm and comfortable whilst sleeping otherwise your waking up 2 or 3 time during the night because of the cold and then your tired for the rest of the day so keeping warm whilst sleeping is a must, Hope you enjoy your trip.
