They are far from uncoordinated, they just think on a different level. My Mom always said that trying to pet a ferret was like trying to hold running water. Whatever it is that they do, it works well for them. 🤣
Taus :Cat is always so beautiful and quick and cautious and then we see ferret, omg, the energy, the beauty...and then i must realize as a human, these are killing machines , endowed with the power of nature to make them cute, playful...as humans can be also...aren’t... we all so cute...and god is laying there on a rug watching all of this... the question is now: Who is watching God?
I swear, cats collectively seem to be slightly confused by other animals. Like they'll kinda interact with them but the cat always thinks the other animal is doing it wrong.
Cats are just calm and intelligent. Its understands that the ferret wants to play so the cat calmly plays with it as if it's a young cat or something because the ferret is hyperactive like a kitten
I know this looks like the ferret could run rings around the cat, but looks are deceiving. Here in Arizona it's a well known fact, I mean theory, that if you have a scorpion problem, get a cat (or two.) Cat's are not immune to a scorpion's venom, but that have lightning fast reflexes when it's life or death. A buddy of mine out here had a ferret and it got stung by a scorpion and died. Even kittens rarely get stung. It's weird.
@@billt8504 This isn't so much to do with speed/reflexes rather than natural behavior - Members of the weasel family are a lot more curious and inquisitive than cats, plus they are much more omnivorous (many members of the weasel family eat scorpions and spiders as part of their natural diet), so ferrets are FAAAR more likely to hunt out scorpions and mess with them, leading to them being stung more often that cats. Also, cats DO get stung by scorpions on occasion, but more often they get bitten by snakes. Ferrets, on the other hand, are natural predators of snakes and hunt them voraciously in the wild, rarely getting bitten. I'm not sure if any research has been done into the relative reflexes of cats vs ferrets, but they're both EXTREMELY quick, with ferrets having a massive maneuverability advantage and cats being bigger and stronger, so who knows which would win in an actual life and death fight. (Source: I'm a veterinarian in Texas and have seen a LOT of cats with scorpion stings and snake bites. 🙁)
I used to have a ferret that would come running to me when I got home. His back end would catch up and try to pass his front end. No matter how bad a day it was, I'd end it smiling.
lol the picture in my mind of that is hilarious. I've always wondered what it's like to have a ferret for a pet. Is it more work (for want of a better word) than having a dog? I realize "work" sounds negative; I don't mean it in that way, but I'm guessing you know what I mean
@@lloydb4469 I used to have one too. Like any pet, as long as you're willing to clean up a bit after them, they are relatively easy to care for. The one i had sleep for nearly 20 hours a day, and most of them spend most of their lives sleeping lol. Ferrets are great comic relief. When you let them go exploring, they put on a circus act. One of the things i remember my ferret did, was it figured out how to get into our drawers/furniture. We then discovered she was moving all of our socks, and bringing them under the couch, I think she was tryna build a nest. Also no matter how hard you try, they will always find a way to climb something and fall off of it lmao.
@@lloydb4469 Not really. They are a high energy pet though, so when they want to play, you just have to resign yourself to not getting anything done. They also crash hard; it's play, play, play, play SLEEP. They do seem somewhat ADD and will change focus without notice. Kind of amusing in that regard. Both of mine had a "boomerang" game they liked to play. They'd come chattering up to you and start to climb my leg, I'd scoop it up and toss it onto the pillows a few feet away. It'd grab his hind legs in the air and make a high pitched sound that sounded all the world like, "weeeeeeee!" Then he'd come running back up to do it again. Sometimes it'd go for half an hour. Mine (I've had two) were box trained so there's keeping the litter box clean. And they'll need a "den". I used a cat kennel with a lot of blanket stuffed in there. Keep toys around so they'll have something to do at night when you're in bed. It'll minimize but won't stop their need for nocturnal attention. I learned to hand wrestle with mine while snoozing, then he'd curl up and sleep along your arm or neck. There is ferret food but I just kept dry cat food in a bowl and would feed wet to him in the evening. Mine also liked fruit so when I ate an apple, mine would "weasel" up onto the breakfast bar and I'd share a slice. I had one that was a freak for grapes too. They also like salt and the crook of my arm would get licked anytime I came in sweaty and it might get nipped in their enthusiasm. TL;DR: They're not a lot of "work", less than a dog IMHO. Need a den and you'll end up with toys to strep over. Lot's of laughs and cuteness but a little bit wild too.

Just love it, I have 2 ferrets myself, a boy and a girl...... I laugh so hard when they play. I adore them..... Missy & Bear. Sorry for the loss of your Bandit the cat.
Fun fact the reason ferrets freak out like that is because it is a hunting style. I shit you not ferrets act insane to lull its target into a sense of security almost like hippnosis then slowly and acting crazily the ferret gets closer and finds an opening to strike and pounce. It also is an expression of excitement.
It's not a way of lulling a prey into a hypnosis state or false sense of security whatsoever. Their constant and rapid movement confuses their prey and tires them out as they struggle to keep an eye on the ferret. If their prey also tries to attack, they struggle to actually hit them since the ferret is constantly whipping around. If the prey tries to flee, the ferret will chase, pounce, but then quickly bounce away t resume it's war dance to further tire out it's prey. Eventually, the prey grows tired and panicked. If they don't try to flee, the ferret then lunges and sinks it's teeth into the back of their prey's necks. If their prey is too tired to struggle, the ferret then whips it's body around while still biting down, forcing it's teeth deeper into the spine and eventually snapping it.
I would have pinned my friend down taken them home and made them go to sleep then in the morning make them coffee and breakfast with a side of aspirin and shown them the video of some of the stupid things they did.
Very cute! I loved how the little ferret slipped under the chest of drawers and then popped his head out. They make an excellent play couple, and I'm sure they will enjoy each other's company for a long time to come.
It's like one of those Benny Hill style slapstick chase scenes where you see a view of a hallway lengthwise, with doors on the left side and doors on the right side, and the person doing the chasing runs out a door from the right and runs into a door on the left and then the person being chased runs out from a different door and runs into a different door and then a clown runs out of a different door and into a different one.
This was so funny at cute!!! :) I couldn't really tell who was winning, I think the Ferret. It was so funny when the ferret was peaking in and out from under the dresser, it reminded me of Wack A Mole or Wacky Gator.
This seems to be a pretty chill cat. And the ferrets jumping about is a pretty clear "I want to play not attack!" signal in the animal world. In many ways the ferret is acting like a playful kitten, which made it clear to the cat, that this isn't a threat. Its something that wants to play with me, not hurt me. And since's ferrets seem to "stumble" around a lot, it really looks like a young playful kitten, one that hasn't quite mastered the art of running yet.
I had a ferret and when I let her out on the floor, she would do that sideways hop around the cats. They had no clue what to make of the situation. I actually think they were spooked.
these are truly special and fantastic creatures. Unfortunately when they get older they can run into a lot of health problems. Just be sure to bring them to a vet for yearly check ups just like a cat or dog. These little fucks are strong willed animals. With a little extra care they can stay crazy ass fuck til the day they die.
Ohmigawd this is sooooo cute!!! I had a ferret in college, my roommate wouldnt let me keep him (I already 3 cats) so I had my best friend keep him, and his roommate had a cat - and they played just like this!!! I remember the first time I went to visit him and they were playing and we were all laughing like idiots at how funny and cute it was, and I was like how long have they been doing this? And they said it was the first time they had seen it, but they were playing like they had been doing it forever! SO cute, and miss my furry critters and friends.
Ferrets are so fun!! I had one that lived for 11 years. Miss my little Zoey girl!! Endless entertainment! She was a little thief too. She used to hide everything and anything she could carry in her mouth. Lol!! Underneath all the beds in the house.
And 9 years later, youtube's algorithm finally decides its time for me to check this out despite the grand archive of animal videos I have watched! I thoroughly enjoyed this one!!!
Always fun to watch a "Weasel War Dance." Also, glad the owner(s?) are keeping a close watch and noting that the cat's ears are up and is not hissing at the ferret, therefore the fuzzy slinky is not in danger. Good pet ownership there.

AirForce576 because it's play.
AirForce576 No shit, because it's play behavior as well. I meant that more towards their "fact" of a ferrets hunting style.
That is a really interesting fact! Thank you for sharing that with us Megan :)
And same for you culture :D
That is one cheeky and playful ferret! Glad the two can have fun and games without getting nasty.
The dankest against the dankest
The ferret: “Our battle would be legendary.”
When your friend is all fycked up and youre still sober
I would have pinned my friend down taken them home and made them go to sleep then in the morning make them coffee and breakfast with a side of aspirin and shown them the video of some of the stupid things they did.
That was some Scooby-Doo level shenanigans from the ferret poking his head out from various different places lmao
Wow what a stunning ferret. Unusual markings
Yeah
Lynette Phillimore most likely deaf.
Yea thats Wat i was goin to say...I likes the markings
Is it not a pole cat
@@markscouler2534 ~ I reckon half? It's got an albino head?
That ferret is beyond normal amounts of cute.
I don't understand why people would dislike this
1:22 LOL
Me too
SunDragon Bro Yes its like an episode of Tom and Jerry lol. Except its a ferret.
Peek-a-boo ferret style
SunDragon Bro yep
Whack a mole
Lmao, "Pop goes the weasel!" Cx
OMG that was Adorable!!! I had a Ferret once and I loved her to pieces.
Every year this comes back to my recommendation list and I love it
The ferret moves like a slinky who drank too many beers. xD
ok kasper
"Where are you? Come out!"
"I'm right here! No, I'm over here! Now I'm over here! I'm all around you!"
"...goddamnit."
Matrix Ninja
You can tell they're play fighting the cats tail is up and he's not hissing. Also what that guy said about the ears back is right.
The ferret is "you WILL play, you WILL play, you WILL play". Eventually the cat says "Oooh. OK".
Oh well this is the best video I've seen this week. Thank-you CZcams algorithm.
Such a funny ferret, and boundless energy.
This was so funny at cute!!! :) I couldn't really tell who was winning, I think the Ferret. It was so funny when the ferret was peaking in and out from under the dresser, it reminded me of Wack A Mole or Wacky Gator.
That ferret had some moves. I half-expected to see its head pop out through the door keyhole -- HELLO! -- then pop back out!
I appreciate how y’all were paying attention to the cat’s body language.
The ferret is versed in hit and run tactics.
I had a ferret and when I let her out on the floor, she would do that sideways hop around the cats. They had no clue what to make of the situation. I actually think they were spooked.
“He’s playing with your duck”
cat: Say what now?! *stands up to investigate*
He stood up like he about to let that forty bang
So cute! Your laughter makes it even funnier. Thanks for sharing. 🥰
Okay, a ferret and cat seem like the perfect pet combo, like these animals seem like such a good combination to bring life to your home I love it.
Love it when the ferret pokes his head under the dresser! Hilarious.
1:08 I like how the cat gets very confused because he's expecting an attack from the rear but then the ferret starts playing with the laundry
when the ferret popped his head from under the .... wardrobe type thing that was funny af
"He's playing with your duck"
Cat: O shit *goes and investigates*
Ferret: *Suddenly in the foreground*
Ferret: you can't touch me cat. I'm too fast. Now you see me now you don't. What you going to do.
these are truly special and fantastic creatures. Unfortunately when they get older they can run into a lot of health problems. Just be sure to bring them to a vet for yearly check ups just like a cat or dog. These little fucks are strong willed animals. With a little extra care they can stay crazy ass fuck til the day they die.
This is one of the funniest and sweetest animal videos I've ever seen. You can tell these two really get along.
I miss my Ferrets I gave them up for adoption when I moved. Peanut & Jasper those were my lil homies.
Ferrets are so fun!! I had one that lived for 11 years. Miss my little Zoey girl!! Endless entertainment! She was a little thief too. She used to hide everything and anything she could carry in her mouth. Lol!! Underneath all the beds in the house.
That is ancient for a ferret. Wow. The main reason I've never gotten another is their short life spans and being so common to die of cancer.
She lived forever! Wow! How cool :)
And 9 years later, youtube's algorithm finally decides its time for me to check this out despite the grand archive of animal videos I have watched! I thoroughly enjoyed this one!!!
That barrel roll at the end was sick 😂
Always fun to watch a "Weasel War Dance."
Also, glad the owner(s?) are keeping a close watch and noting that the cat's ears are up and is not hissing at the ferret, therefore the fuzzy slinky is not in danger. Good pet ownership there.
Agreed :)
Human: "He's playing with your duck."
Cat: "That motherf*cker!"
These two have such a better time together, no human could afford such a companionship.
That ferret's coloration is simply beautiful. Those two are perfect playmates!
Your furry slinky is adorable. Makes me miss my ferrets i use to have as a kid. lol
Them ferret dodging skills
Aw ferrets are incredible. I remember going to my friends house in highschool and meeting his ferrets, and they were so awesome.
Hahahaha, when the ferrets head slyly popped out from under the cabinet i swear I nearly pissed myself.
Thanks for sharing. You made me smile after a long day working at the jail.
