Yeah I think I'm more understanding with Lucifer on that. Yes I understand how Chloe is thinking and feeling about the crazy stuff going around with Lucifer and her but to also look back on things Lucifer has been alone his entire life and never had anyone to care for him and him caring for someone would be extremely hard especially since his own dad kicked him out and never spoke to him again. With all his siblings disliking him and so much more. Then the loneliness and everything. He would have a extremely hard time trying to get past everything

The way i see it, their mojo just reflects their most defining trait. And Michael tapped into the deepest fears she has(for now it is that Lucifer doesn't feel the same way) and effectively exploited those fears. Logic and fear are quite strong weapons... And Michael point of view wasn't bad, even his logic made kinda sense, she was torned between her emotions and Michael's logical arguments.

I believe his invulnerability now means he feels his strongest when he's with her and therefore now invincible in her presence. I don't see it as him shutting himself off from her.
I interpreted it as maybe he subconsciously realized that he needs to be strong in order to protect her after feeling helpless during that brush with the serial killer so his invulnerability returned. Yours makes sense as well, but do we have to wait until 5B to know the truth? Ah, the agony.
It is a little weird I mean come on he’s told you his issues with the parents, siblings and you know all the relationships he had in the past were mainly sexual, only exceptions we’ve seen are Eve, candy, Lilith and maze and well he doesn’t love them like he does Chloe, he cares about them for sure that much is clear but above all else he loves Chloe that much has been clear since season 1 when he asked god to save her

I have two theories about Lucifer having his invulnerability back : 1. I think that maybe he unconsciously self actualised himself in order to protect Chloe so that she doesn’t get hurt again 2. Or maybe he was vulnerable when he was with her because he felt insecure about her because of his feelings for her but now that they’re together she makes him stronger so maybe he’s only invulnerable when he’s with her ? Idk but we’ll probably learn more about that in part 2 ! Ps : sorry if there’s some mistakes, I’m French 💕

I mean the simple fact that he spent thousands of years in hell and came back still just as devoted to her as before speaks VOLUMES! Means a heck of a lot more than just saying "I love you" if you ask me. Though I do understand why Chloe feels insecure about it. Human/human relationships can make one feel insecure enough about being told 'I love you' back, let alone a celestial one!
This might just be me but I’m glad his first “I love you” was not in the storage closet where the nightmare begin. But I think that the writer are going to make the first ilu special like last season. If you remember Chloe also almost said it during the demon attack. So I’m sure it going to be special and somewhere not so cursed. I believe in the writer hopefully 🙏
In an interview tom ellis said Lucifer does love Chloe and is capable of saying "I love you" but there's something holding him back probably his father issues. I think God will help Lucifer deal with whatever it is while time is stopped at least to some degree then he'll say it when time restarts because episode 9 called "Family Dinner" which suggests Lucifer and God have started to rebuild their relationship.

Same model as for older seasons... they finally get to be closer, then Luci fck up or Chloe fck up something and then they spend several next episodes with "how to deal with that" So logical conclusion is, that they will do the same here (but tbh, i wish that they won't, cause i really wish for Lucifer and Chloe to be happy...).

Technically he said "my first love was you" not "i love you" So it's completely normal to expect to hear it from him. She said it multiple times already
Everything has finished now and we know what the end game was but my thoughts from this moment shared. I understand Chloe's fear of Lucifer not feeling the same; it's a natural fear that someone not feeling the same way back and wanting a verbal 'I Love You' validation. With Lucifer; he's different from all the other situations. Having abandonment issues and feeling that his own father, mother and siblings don't love him brings on a lot of insecurities over the years. It's not that Lucifer doesn't love her because we know he does; just look at everything he has done for her including saving her life countless times and going to hell for her and paying the ultimate sacrifice. All the little things he has done for her on top of that. Actions will always speak louder than words in my eyes. Luci is just super insecure but the love he has for her is real and goes beyond any words. This is one of my favourite scenes from this season and I'm truly happy they waited for Luci to say those words when he actually did at the end of S5 because it had a much bigger payoff emotionally. Questions for everyone here and please feel the need to share. When was the moment you think Lucifer fell in love with Chloe and in turn when do you think the moment was for Chloe when she fell in love with Lucifer? I think cases can be made for sometime in S2 but I think S3 was where it became more full circle. Episodes 2×10, 2×11, 2×12, 2×13 and 3×6, 3×15, 3×23, 3×24 stand out to me.
He said it’s complicated- does this go back to the prophecy? He did say she was his first love and always has been. Then he did decided to go ahead and say it. I don’t think he’s ever said he has loved anyone that is probably why it started to come off awkward. Once he said it, it probably would have been different. We don’t know what all will continue to change with the devil being happy in love! Chloe being meant for him... can she get pregnant? Will something make him mortal and her not? So many possibilities with a season 6. They said they only have the last half of episode 5x16 to finish from the pandemic.
I think, that god will give them choice about their mortality. Amenadiel will take it and Lucifer not, that creates strain for the rest of the season 5. Or they will find that while Lucifer can reflect people's desire, that Chloe can reflect his desire. But i don't think, that they will be happy, at least not till season 6.

A warning to all Deckerstar shippers: it's entirely possible that Dad/God will tell Lucifer in part 2 that if he actually tells Chloe he loves her, for real -- he'll become fully a mortal human. for me i think his resistance to saying i love you was because he’s spent his entire life as the devil refusing to love. it must be hard for him to admit he’s not pure evil, it’s the only thing he had after being cast out of heaven.

I just want to defend Lucifer for not saying those three magic words to Chloe....HE REALLY DID SAY IT! Remember in season 4 ending, the scene in the balcony where Chloe confessed her love for the Devil. It was honestly a rollercoaster of emotions with all the tears, pain, and the sacrifices need to be made for the safety of mankind, so Lucifer went back to Hell to protect Chloe. But he did also left behind a very romantic line, "We were wrong about something else in the prophecy. My first love was never Eve. It was you CHLOE. It always has been". I know it's not the clichè and plain "I love you" and considering he's a Devil with all that tormented history of not feeling loved by anybody, I count that as poetic and romantic enough for a confession of feelings.
I mean I understand that there is always something happening to keep the tention but can they please just be happily together for the rest of the show?? There are so many other things to explore e.g. a possible wedding, a threat that they fight as a whole UNIT without anything interfering their relationship, the other characters, ... - I just want them to be a happy couple from now on
Frustrating how much angst they've had since sleeping together!!! Like can they not have half an episode of pure schmoozing together? Also love Chloe but given how smart she is and how well she comprehends Lucifer by now, her insecurity is a bit annoying. He's shown her in so many ways and in his actions just how deeply in love he is with her.

It was either God foreshadowing his arrival on earth or it was Amenadiel's subconscious actualising the only way it knew how - as a reflex - with Amenadiels realisation that his son was, albeit temporarily - or permanently, mortal and all the 'problems' that entails for him. It's not something he's considered since, as he said, he assumed he was celestial - ignoring for now Remiel stating as much too when she came to earth - and didn't think he'd have to worry about all the pitfalls that come with being human... "weak" and such, compared to the invulnerability and immortality the celestials enjoy inherently.

In an interview tom ellis said Lucifer does love Chloe and is capable of saying "I love you" but there's something holding him back probably his father issues. I think God will help Lucifer deal with whatever it is while time is stopped at least to some degree then he'll say it when time restarts because episode 9 called "Family Dinner" which suggests Lucifer and God have started to rebuild their relationship.

They said there will be 5 actors in that table scene in Family Dinner. I think Lucifer, Michael, Amenadiel, God, Maze, Chloe and Linda. But, I didn't get it why he didn't say it. In Season 4, Lucifer was better at talking about his feelings. I guess, Lucifer thought he is not worth it for her after Lucifer and Pete had a conversation.

I think, that it's traumatic experience for him, to be separated from her for thousands of years(even if it was only two months for her and i think that she can't quite imagine that)... He is afraid to say it, because he fears, that he will have to leave again.
And about that theory, it can be quite good to see them and resolve things, but i am afraid that it will go different way... something like gods offering mortality to Lucifer and Amenadiel, when Amenadiel will take that offer, and Lucifer won't... And that will be the main love plot in the next half of the season.

Same model as for older seasons... they finally get to be closer, then Luci fck up or Chloe fck up something and then they spend several next episodes with "how to deal with that"
So logical conclusion is, that they will do the same here (but tbh, i wish that they won't, cause i really wish for Lucifer and Chloe to be happy...).

the reason why he is invulnerable is that he wants to protect Chloe that's my guess.
My theory on why he hasn’t said it properly is pretty straightforward
Chloe said it first and that scene is everyone’s favourite
If Lucifer would’ve said it next without any effort it wouldn’t be so impactful
The writer’s didn’t made him say it in the first half of Season 5 because they wanted to portray it as very precious
That’s why the extra effort and stalling it to make it more impactful

Everything has finished now and we know what the end game was but my thoughts from this moment shared. I understand Chloe's fear of Lucifer not feeling the same; it's a natural fear that someone not feeling the same way back and wanting a verbal 'I Love You' validation. With Lucifer; he's different from all the other situations. Having abandonment issues and feeling that his own father, mother and siblings don't love him brings on a lot of insecurities over the years. It's not that Lucifer doesn't love her because we know he does; just look at everything he has done for her including saving her life countless times and going to hell for her and paying the ultimate sacrifice. All the little things he has done for her on top of that. Actions will always speak louder than words in my eyes. Luci is just super insecure but the love he has for her is real and goes beyond any words. This is one of my favourite scenes from this season and I'm truly happy they waited for Luci to say those words when he actually did at the end of S5 because it had a much bigger payoff emotionally. Questions for everyone here and please feel the need to share. When was the moment you think Lucifer fell in love with Chloe and in turn when do you think the moment was for Chloe when she fell in love with Lucifer? I think cases can be made for sometime in S2 but I think S3 was where it became more full circle. Episodes 2×10, 2×11, 2×12, 2×13 and 3×6, 3×15, 3×23, 3×24 stand out to me.

He said it’s complicated- does this go back to the prophecy? He did say she was his first love and always has been. Then he did decided to go ahead and say it. I don’t think he’s ever said he has loved anyone that is probably why it started to come off awkward. Once he said it, it probably would have been different. We don’t know what all will continue to change with the devil being happy in love! Chloe being meant for him... can she get pregnant? Will something make him mortal and her not? So many possibilities with a season 6. They said they only have the last half of episode 5x16 to finish from the pandemic.
I think, that god will give them choice about their mortality. Amenadiel will take it and Lucifer not, that creates strain for the rest of the season 5. Or they will find that while Lucifer can reflect people's desire, that Chloe can reflect his desire. But i don't think, that they will be happy, at least not till season 6.

A warning to all Deckerstar shippers: it's entirely possible that Dad/God will tell Lucifer in part 2 that if he actually tells Chloe he loves her, for real -- he'll become fully a mortal human. No immortality, no wings or Devil face. No mojo. Nada. And Lucifer most likely isn't prepared for that. What do you think THAT will do to the rest of the season?

I just want to defend Lucifer for not saying those three magic words to Chloe....HE REALLY DID SAY IT! Remember in season 4 ending, the scene in the balcony where Chloe confessed her love for the Devil. It was honestly a rollercoaster of emotions with all the tears, pain, and the sacrifices need to be made for the safety of mankind, so Lucifer went back to Hell to protect Chloe. But he did also left behind a very romantic line, "We were wrong about something else in the prophecy. My first love was never Eve. It was you CHLOE. It always has been". I know it's not the clichè and plain "I love you" and considering he's a Devil with all that tormented history of not feeling loved by anybody, I count that as poetic and romantic enough for a confession of feelings.
I mean I understand that there is always something happening to keep the tention but can they please just be happily together for the rest of the show?? There are so many other things to explore e.g. a possible wedding, a threat that they fight as a whole UNIT without anything interfering their relationship, the other characters, ... - I just want them to be a happy couple from now on

Frustrating how much angst they've had since sleeping together!!! Like can they not have half an episode of pure schmoozing together? Also love Chloe but given how smart she is and how well she comprehends Lucifer by now, her insecurity is a bit annoying. It was either God foreshadowing his arrival on earth or it was Amenadiel's subconscious actualising the only way it knew how - as a reflex - with Amenadiels realisation that his son was, albeit temporarily - or permanently, mortal and all the 'problems' that entails for him. It's not something he's considered since, as he said, he assumed he was celestial - ignoring for now Remiel stating as much too when she came to earth - and didn't think he'd have to worry about all the pitfalls that come with being human... "weak" and such, compared to the invulnerability and immortality the celestials enjoy inherently.
