I love Chris Taylor, but he had a .03 AVG at one point… Miller and Buehler are coming off injury, so even though Taylor is doing better now, idk if it’s close
Along with lux, maybe he can return to his 2022 form and find a balance of power and contact

Julio, obviously. He showed signs of being his normal self for a few weeks, but that doesnt help his almost 3 month slump

I think for the dodgers I gotta go with Chris Taylor, the first time I saw his stats a few weeks ago I was shocked. Gavin Lux has at least been hitting over .200 (very low bar), Taylor is hitting .156!!!
Dodgers is fs Outman. He got sent down to AAA and was still not that good and when he got called back up he still is trash. Taylor is a very close second but he’s always been kinda disappointing
As for players who weren’t released, gotta put Goldy at #1. Such a disappointment. 2nd worst in MLB batting with RISP. Cardinals need him and Arenado to get it together.
The believe among Blue Jay fans is that Bo just wants out of the organization. He is unhappy and checked out.
Reds fan here. The correct answer for us is Will Benson, no question, at least of the people who have been healthy/available most of the year (looking at you Marte and CES)
The cubs signed Dansby for his defense and he’s an average hitter but yeah the cubs first half was just soooo bad but hopefully they pick it up in the second half but hopefully Dansby can get near or back to what he was last year
I think the Reds just have a bunch of guys who are meh, and the reason Alexis Diaz's ERA is so high is because he's a reliver, if you give up 1 run in 1 inning you have a 9 ERA and Montas has shown flashes but he's just been ok, like I'm not thrilled when he's on the mound but i'd rather have him over Graham Ashcraft

For the. Dodgers, Chris Taylor because of the $15M salary. Lux, Miller and Beuhler are coming off injuries. Kiki, Outman and Haywood have not impressed either. Not everyone comes back from a 2nd TJ so Beuhler may be done. Taylor, Outman, Lux are my disappointing top three.

@@chrisweidner4768 no he hasn’t I’m unfortunately a blue jays fan and watched the series and besides him scoring the winning run because our awful bullpen, he did nearly nothing that series. he is hitting way below average and wayyyyy worse than what he did in his roty season last year, especially for having signed a big contract. I never said he won’t ever be as good, I was just saying it won’t be this year. Maybe next spring
@@JaydenWillem Not a fan, but had heard he was picking it up. Looking at his stats; he has at least 1 hit in 7 of his last 9 games. Thinking his breakout on the 13th of 2 HRs and 6 RBIs might augur well for the future.

Bobby Miller has really disappointed me. I thought he could potentially but top 5 in Cy Young this year because of how good he looked last year.

Recently Hayes has looked better offensively hoping he can keep it up because he’ll be important if we want to compete for a playoff spot, he just hasn’t made good contact with the ball this year resulting in easy groundouts and he’s been really bad vs righty’s but very good vs lefty’s

He’s just completely fallen apart. Pitching staff is trying to turn him into a major league caliber ballplayer while he’s on the starting rotation. Worst part is that the sox are so hard up for arms that even if they buy (which is somehow not a sure thing despite their absolute tear heading into the second half) he probably still sticks on the rotation. He’s getting major league money for playing double A ball. In a perfect world they could stick him in long relief to work on his non changeup pitches. Unlikely to happen, though.

It’s not even a sure thing the sox get one new starter by this deadline, and with almost everyone in mlb looking for starters it’s basically impossible they nab two without completely destroying the farm system. He’ll be starting for the rest of the season basically no doubt. Just a frustrating reality.
As a Dodger fan Bobby Miller would be my personal choice.

It sucks that MJ Melendez got hurt when he did. He was starting to hit pretty well within the last 3-4 weeks. Before Hunter Renfroe took off recently he could’ve been a subject to. Thank god he’s started to hit more like he has during his career.
Before his injury, I'd have to say that Acuna Jr was on pace to being the biggest dissapointment in all the majors. He had a way steeper drop off than Harris compared to last year.
A player whose been good in the first half but is bad now is clay Holmes. He gives up so much runs!

As a Dodger fan I nominate Chris Taylor. I love the guy so it hurts. Corbin Carroll obviously is the Diamondbacks choice. He's sucked all year, Montgomery hasn't been with them all year.

Houston has multiple players eating up valuable salary.
Lance McCullers Jr, Rafeal Montero, Jose Abreu (released), and now Verlander is eating up money at $40M a year and hes missed alot of the 1st half of the season.
How did you pick Kebryan Hayes and not Rowdy Tellez or Suwinski for the Pirates? Both of them have literally been under .200 the entire season Tellez is statistically the worst first baseman in the league and has been a joke the entire season.

A lot of players had a so so or awful 1st half & they can turn it up a few notches to salvage it. Seen it quite a few times over the past 57 years.
If you're a pitcher and lose your control..keep putting pitches in the center of the zone 20 times a game ..if you're a hitter and you're trying to hit homers with two strikes ..all the time! The yips in baseball are a killer.

If healthy Ronald Acuña, JR would’ve been my pick as a Braves fan, or Aaron Bummer. Michael Harris needs to get healthy like a lot of the Braves.
Biggest surprise: Reynaldo Lopez totally expecting him to flame out as a starter and be put in bullpen.
In general the most annoying thing this season: all the injuries.
Reynaldo is the real deal. If anything he steps it up when Sale gets hurt.
I sat Corbin Carroll I would argue is worst. You can chalk it up as a sophomore slump, but I would say he had higher expectations than Montgomery. I mean Montgomery having a 1-year deal the expectations was mostly to be a trade a piece regards of his performance like he could (maybe stay if the team as whole was in playoffs contention).....but he may somehow went below that bar....Like if Mike Hazen was comfortable enough of returning to the playoffs he might have given Montgomery a longer contract. So still my vote goes to Carroll because he clearly is a bigger piece for their future over Montgomery.

mj melendez is also one of the best defenders on kc so him hitting .200 is fine especially because he is hitting hr every now and again
MJ over his last 25 starts has a .285 average last year in the second half he hit about .280 in his last 70 games. He just need consistency. Talent is there just not the consistency

Chris Taylor is definitely the most disappointing dodger player. James outman and bobby miller were just rookies, so a slump ilis reasonable. Walker buehler also just came off tommy john and not pitching for 2 years. Chris taylor was a former all star that plummeted to mediocrity and then awfulness. The only contender is gavin lux, but hes failed to breakout in previous seasons as well, so he didnt have high expectations either
These contracts have gotten out of hand. Unless youre just a special player large contracts arent going to affect them but most guys just drop off the table quality play wise. Make these guys work for their money!
