I have been watching Easy German for some months now. And this is the first time that I can understand without referencing the subtitles! I still remember when at first, the german line doesn't make sense at all; and then, I had to pause for every sentence to check the meaning of most words; then being able to read the german subtitles without pausing. I feel like Easy German had really witnessed and helped my growth in German! Thank you for your effort!

did you always watch it normal speed or did you watch it slower to begin with? i usually try it normal speed for the first viewing but people speak so damn fast i find i can get more out of it if i slow it down a bit and pause between sentences. maybe i just have slow head. i found french and italian came much easier for me, but i've been trying to get a feel for german for years now (five or six) and it's still only just coming i love the sound but i always feel i'm on the outside, if you know what i mean. good luck with your learning anyway.

When I was in Germany, me and my friends were going to another friend's house for cocktail and we arrived 10 minutes early. The host said we were too early and made us wait outside the house until the right time! Even the germans in the group were like "WTF?" lol

Ich liebe die deutsche Kultur, die Natur und die Leute. Die deutsche Menschen sind so organisiert und ich finde es sehr gut! Die Verkehrsmittel sind schnell und sehr pünktlich, wie auch die Menschen. Das finde ich wunderbar! Ich bin Deutschlehrerin in Brasilien und unterrichte Deutsch als Fremsprache für Kinder und deswegen finde ich diese Kultur so interessant! Ich stimme Menschen zu, die deutsche Sprache genauso schön ist. Sie ist natürlich nicht einfach, aber ich würde sagen, dass sie logisch ist. Das ist wirklich schön! Ich hoffe, dass ich bald nach Deutschland wieder fliegen kann.

I’m from the Philippines and there are a number of things I like about Germany. I like the public transportation, cleanliness, orderliness, food, parks, forests, playgrounds, safety or security, the job center financial assistance when you’re just starting your life here in germany and still learning the language, the health care and the overall quality of life. Its a blessing to live here and oh I like it that people greet each other in groceries or when you’re just out for a walk.

I love Germany for the obvious things like the beer and bread, but I think the thing I like the most is how nice the people are. Not necessarily nice on the surface, but it's a deeper, genuine kindness once people get to know you. I also love how everyone goes outside in their gardens on Sundays or watches a soccer game with their friends. Germans know how to take time off and enjoy it, unlike us Americans! :)
I'm not sure where you get the idea I think Germany is perfect. It is far from perfect. However, I'm speaking from experience as I lived there for several years and I think I have an idea of what German culture is like. She asked us to state what we like about Germany in the video so I did. There are also things I DIDN'T like about it. No country is perfect, obviously...
Yes, as an American I appreciated how Germans' niceness seemed to stem from a deeper, more genuine place and I think their idea of friendship as well as their approach to life is more authentic.
Heather Rhoden you don't have to explain yourself to anyone. You gave your take on Germany and that's all that matters. I love your answer as I feel simlar. I prefer to in near future leave America and go back to Germany but first want to visit areas I never been to in Germany. I love Germany 🇩🇪 lifestyle cause in USA to much stress people are stupid on average in USA not even aware of what's going on in the world outside of their bias news and not even aware of what goes on in local communities. America is a beautiful country but what good is it when the workforce doesn't let people have more than 2 weeks of vacay time.

As an Italian, about Germany
I like: people are generally respectful, discrete and don't judge others; big cities in Germany are very international and entertaining; lot of green areas and countryside; germans usually have a lot of free time (lot of vacation and not such a stressful work routine as in the US, for example); bureaucracy, public transportation, health and educative system work well and are accessible to everyone.
I don't like: summer weather (I mean only 2 weeks with temperature above 20°C is too little); beside some delicious German classic (beer, bread, schnitzel, knodel, etc.) food is not the best; although very nice, people are somewhat cold and not always friendly and it takes time and effort to get close to them.

I agree that the weather is not the best here , but only two weeks in the summer with temperature above 20 degrees is not true! 😅 Normally the average temperature is betweeen 25 - 33 degrees in the summer, sometimes it can even be very hot about 40 degrees. If you're very unlucky, you can have a lot of rain and cold weather , but only two weeks a year with more than 20 degrees is a lie - we're not at the north pole! 😅

Die Systematik und die Puenklichkeit habe ich in Deutschland gelernt. Die deutsche Sprache ist sehr interessant und diszipliniert. Eure Methode finde ich sehr toll. Macht weiter so! Thank you, your lessons are the best out of all presented on CZcams. I learned some German in school back in Poland and my grandmother used to talk to me in German as she was born there. Speaking German was my passion and I was good at it in school 😍 I was the only companion for my grandmother to talk in German.... but as I left aboard I lost contact with the language. Now everything is coming back 😊 alles geht in meinen Kopf zurück Ich liebe Deutsche Sprache ist in meinem herzen Danke !!! ❤️❤️❤️

What do I like about Germany? You asked, so here's my reply : I'm from the US, and my number 1 thing I like about Germany is the way people interact. As an American female people often expect me to be smiling all the time or else something must be wrong. I'm friendly, but I'm not false. When I visited Germany most Germans seemed to think I was German solely based of my demeanor (I think), because Americans are thought of as being loud and overly talkative.
While visiting Germany certainly made it clear to me how American I am, it still felt more like home than the UK, and I loved that small talk and smiling at anyone you meet eyes with isn't expected there.
I really hope to visit again soon. Love your channel I use it to keep my barely conversational Deutsch brushed up.
I don't disagree with most of what you said, no bubbles burst here, but I do take issues with a few points. Them being:
1) since we as Americans don't travel much nor have interest in other cultures,
Patently false. What Americans lack is the money to travel. And when they can, the continental US is just as large as Europe, and aside from understandable language, it's a hodgepodge of culture. Europeans, on average, get 1-2 weeks more vacation time and also, on average, have a higher wage. It's not that Americans don't want to go, but the resources limit people to driving distance. And even if you've driven the same distance it sounds way more cultured when you drove through a myriad of countries rather than a bunch of states.
2) While I'd like for every culture to have its own big influence on international culture the dynamics of the entertainment industry make that hard. The internet has made distributing media less difficult. But, I won't feel bad about American culture spreading across the world via entertainment. It's not about integrating, it's about spreading your culture.
Multiculturalism, in my personal view, is what makes a nation great. The more we work together the better for humanity. A nation that can and does integrate people of all nations will create the best nation. We're still working on that, but we've got some of the best from around the world.
That means everyone *can* be special in their own way.
3) "It's the amount of hatred geared toward us that hinders our ability to open up. Instead of helping us see that we're basic just like any other human on this planet everyone rather hate us since it's easier to do and we're hard to deal with."
I'm not sure who "we" is in this, but if you're referring to Americans you've contradicted yourself. In the previous sentence, you stated that the USA doesn't take military action across the globe. Which is ludicrous.
Finally,
3)"No country wants to take the challenge of forcing us to accept their culture. Everyone allows us to influence them. It's sad. Everyone should be special in their own way. It's like they can't beat us so they join us."
You don't force a culture, it grows on the populace. The British have influenced American comedy for almost 40 years (starts with Monty Python and expands from there). Some Bollywood style has bled into Hollywood. German film influenced Hitchcock, and many action filmmakers these days take their inspiration from Taiwan.
It's simply a matter of who can emotionally move the most people. Be that excitement, romance, fear, whatever. So far Americans have been the most successful at it, but it's pretty warped to think that other countries have accepted American culture simply because they have no backbone.

Das war eine tolle Erfahrung für mich! was ich an Deutschland mag? Die Ordnung, die Organation, die Sauberkeit, den Öffentlichen Verkehr, die Leute auch sind nett
What do I like the most about Germany ? Well, first I would have to say my best friend Uwe, who despite being at times "extremely" german, as far as following and obeying rules is concerned, is also the funniest person I have ever met and during a very difficult period of his life invited me into his place and never made me feel uncomfortable. I have only been to Berlin twice, and considering that it is such a huge city I can´t say that everyone was nice, but most of the people that I came across were quite friendly and extremely well educated - apart from the bus driver who took me to Schonefeld airport on my way back to Lisbon who told to "leave now, schnell", eheh and a security guard at Potsdamer Platz (but security guards are rude everywhere, I think). I love laugenbrotchen, german types of cheese, how affordable, in a way, Berlin is and I also like the weight of history that one feels while walking around Berlin. I´m eager to visit Hamburg although I´ve been told that people there are very reserved, but we´ll see. Sorry for such a long comment, I know that germans hate beating around the bush :P
Yeah, people in northern Germany are a bit more reserved, but nevertheless you should get to know us and we'll be just as warm hearted.
Thanks, a friend of mine, Simona, was born and raised in Hamburg but now lives in Berlin and everytime she would mention her hometown, she would always say that I would love it, but that people in Hamburg are quite reserved and that may come across, at times, as arrogance, but usually they´re just being a little bit shy :)
Nuno Vasco As a guy living next to Cologne I can recommend you to visit Hamburg and/or Cologne. For me there live the most friendly German people. And both cities love art (streetart).
Thanks for the advice, Eric, I really am looking forward to visit Hamburg, from what I have already seen, it is a very beautiful city and I have been reading about the people there and some visitors have said that people from Hamburg are not cold or unkind, just seem to have a very strange sense of humor and like their privacy.

Als ich das erste Mal in Deutschland gewesen bin, konnte ich nicht wirklich Deutsch sprechen, und ich fand die meisten Deutscher kalt und nicht hilfsbereit, außerdem war ich überrascht, weil viele Deutscher nicht Englisch sprechen konnten. Dieses Jahr kann ich besser Deutsch sprechen, und ich hatte eine ganz anders Erfahrung. Die Deutscher, die ich kennengelernt habe, waren sehr nett und freundlich. Ich vermute, wenn ich nicht Deutsch sprechen könnte, könnte ich keine Chance haben, diese tolle Deutscher kennenzulernen.
Dann hast du bei deiner ersten Reise die falschen Leute erwischt, oder warst am falschen Ort, denn die Meisten helfen, wenn sie gefragt werden. Und zu dem Problem, dass wenige deutsche kein Englisch sprechen können, würde ich Jüngere (16-19 Jährige) eher fragen, da man in der Schule englisch lernen muss

Niomy Chu Sehr gutes Deutsch. Der Plural von ein Deutscher ist die Deutschen oder (viele) Deutsche. Deutscher ist immer Singular. Sonst ist alles richtig. Ich finde es schön, dass Du unsere Sprache lernst und dich für Deutschland interessierst. Ältere Menschen hier können oft wenig Englisch, während man be jüngeren meist mehr Glück hat ;)

ich komme aus den Staaten, ich habe ein Austauschjahr in D-Land gemacht in 2001. Immernoch liebe ich die deutsche Sprache und es freut mich meine Kenntnisse mit Easy German zu über. Da gibt so viele Sachen ich an Deutschland mag, zu viel zu schreiben/zählen, aber auf jeden Fall die Leute ich traf und die Freunde ich gemacht hab :)

Was ich an die deutsche Sprache schwierig finde ist, dass man so viele Wörter und Worte genau muss memorieren ob sie männlich, weiblich oder sächlich sind. Und nominativ-genitiv-dativ usw. Auch gibt es die Verbe mit den ersten, zweiten, dritten oder vierten Fall. Dennoch macht es mir Spass erstens deutsche Bücher zu lesen und dann die Filme zu schauen, zum Beispiel Berlin Alexanderplatz und da kann man auch ein bisschen berlinisches Dialekt erfahren mit einige holländische Wörter. Hab Vieles gelernt mit dem Auflösen deutschen Kreuzworträtsel. Natürlich liebe ich das deutsche Landbrot und deutsches Bier.Tschüss.

Ich habe erst diese Woche deine videos entdeckt, ich mag sie sehr!! Ich bin aus Guatemala und fällt mir auf dass viele Deutschen gegen Regeln und Ordnung sind. Die Kultur und die Landschaft!! Deutschland hat eine tolle Landschaft. Und ich bin schon bissi rum gereist in Deutschland! Letztes Jahr war ich in Norddeutschland, nähe Heide. Dieses Jahr soll es nach Ostdeutschland gehen, an die Ostsee. Nach Rostock usw. ich selber bin aus Bayern. Vor drei Jahren war ich in Trier. In Deutschland gibt es viel zu sehen!
Und ich mag die deutsche Lyrik! Ich liebe sie!!! Rilke, Hesse, Goethe aber auch Kästner usw!! I love it!!!
Ich wohne in Österreich, aber ich habe viele Deutsche kennengelernt!! Auf meiner Erfahrung würde ich sagen, sie sind sehr nett, offen und freundlich!! Außer dem mag ich die Kultur und das Essen!! Last but not least die Sprache: sehr schwer am Anfang, aber, sobald man sie versteht, ist sie wirklich schön

As an Italian living in Germany I really like efficiency, punctuality, respect for public places and for others. The fact that people here really follow the rules. The education, culture and ability to speak english of many Germans+ the German beer which is much better than the ones I find in Italy.
What I don't like is the weather... I don't know about the south, but here in the north it's often gray and cold. I'm not used to such low temperatures.

danke für die vielen effektiven Videos. Ich habe den Kanal relativ spät gefunden. Es wäre schön, wenn ich den Kanal früher gefunden hätte, wann ich selber mit dem Deutschlernen viel beschäftigt war. Nichtsdestotrotz würde ich eure Videos im Deutschunterricht einsetzen. Denn ich bringe jetzt den Schülern in der Mongolei Deutsch bei.
Was ich an Deutschland mag, sind die hervorragende Kultur und die interessanten Sprache.

I recently started watching videos in German and about Germany. I am really new to learning the German language It seems as though Germany is a very beautiful country, with wonderful traditions and places to see.
And for the most part, the people seem very welcoming and very nice.
the one thing I notice that I don't care for is that the younger people in Germany tend to be closed minded, or closed to ideas that are different from what they have pre-judged about other places and cultures. It is the biggest turnoff I have found. And not specifically your videos, because I watch quite a few different channels that teach German or are social interactions about Germany. But it is like the younger people are reading a script and getting digs in at those they are sneering at n "socially" accepted sneers aimed at others.
I mean, other countries do this, but there is a creeping disdain for certain cultures that the younger Germans seem to push..
That is my biggest gripe. I truly love these videos. You introduce different people and speak German in real settings. Not crafted conversations. But I agree with another poster, sometimes the words run together and if the person asking questions could enunciate the words a bit more succinctly, it wold be a great help.
I find myself trying to read to see what was said instead of watching as though I was part of the conversation. I like how you film, that we, the audience, are there with you, part of the conversation.

I like in Germany what Germans don't like about Germany. I love the order in Germany, very narrow space for people who can fool you. I like fairness where they distribute the resources over all the country. It doesn't mean that Berlin is the capital that it is a centralized point for anything. The previous point lead directly to that the Germans are humble which is not common in other rich countries as they do have money but appreciate every single resource. That is not in USA not in England and not in France or any other European country. Finally if the bad in Germany as bureaucracy and order and work like crazy lead to the good they have then I love to be bad like them.
