- The abandoned Island of Dolls (Isla De Las Munecas) is considered one of the creepiest and most haunted locations in Mexico.
Just south of Mexico City, Xochimilco’s ancient waterways are home to a terrifying island whose main residents are decaying dolls.
The legend of Don Julian Santana Barrera and the mysterious circumstances about his death and the hauntings on the island make this location extra creepy.
Ahead of Day of the Dead, we explored the island and spoke to one of his relatives.

The Island of Dolls ( Isla De Las Munecas ) looks from the start to be a Sinister area, but as you both narrated through the story one can only feel for the little girl who tragically lost her life. The spirits are keeping the home a shrine of Don Julian Santana Barrera, and welcome visitors from far and wide.

One thing that will definitely help any souls or spirits that are dwelling within this area would be to have toy wooden carving even some stone toys? Maybe some all-natural organic non-genetically modified earth friendly clothing for the toys. I know this to be true because when I was deeply dead as a child that was one of their favorite sensations so anybody can get some of these items there I guarantee it will be worth it physically and mentally spiritually may be financially.
