I'm Peruvian and I would have to say Barranco is my favorite neighborhood in Lima. It offers great nightlife, eating, beautiful views of the Pacific, historic architecture, great museums, and an awesome bohemian vibe. I also love San Isidro, but only because that's where I was born and that's where I live part of the year.
@@norton2 I just went to Barranco yesterday! It is awesome! Do you have any recommendations for nightlife and places to eat in Barranco? I'll check out San Isidro too, thanks for the info!!!
Definitely! Here's a few that I would recommend. For lunch definitely try Isolina Taberna. They serve traditional Peruvian food. I would also try La 73, Canta Rana, and La Cuadra de Salvador (for steaks). If you're feeling like splurging, I would go to Central belonging to chef Virgilio Martinez, which is one of the world's best restaurants. As far as nightlife, check out the following places: Ayahuasca, Picas, and La Posada del Angel. Another option is bar Juanito, a historic bar serving great butifarra sandwiches. The bar at the Hotel B in Barranco is also pretty swanky. For coffee I would definitely try Bisetti. As far as museums, I would recommend the Pedro de Osma museum, exhibiting a private collection of 15th to 18th century art, the MAC Lima (contemporary art museum) and the Mario Testino museum, which houses a collection of many of his photographs.
Remember, it's pretty hard to go wrong in Lima when it comes to food, so don't feel like you need to stick to my recommendations. Lima has no shortage of restaurants.
Miraflores! Where I was born, very close to that building in the Good Hope clinic up the cliffs in front of the ocean 60 years ago. Now I live in Colorado dreaming with the airports open so I can go there. Thank you for posting. Yes, many Americans compare Miraflores to Santa Monica, but it's different. And when I was a child was so nice... it's a pity time passed so quickly and made everything so messy perhaps.
So awesome that you're there. We are headed to Peru in about 30 days. Your apartment was pretty spacious. Totally understand the toilet paper thing. We were just in Mexico City and the rules were the same. Definitley makes for interesting and awkward conversation. See you have your drone. How did you find getting it into Lima? Did you have to apply for a special permit. I hear so many mixed reviews. Great questions regarding the food. That's one thing wer're doing a lot of research on because we love to eat. Very cool video and creative. Could you also take a look at our latest video, as we'd love to hear what you think as well.
I'll be in Mexico in June ...so good to know! I travel carry on only -- and didn't even ask me about the drone -- but I have the small Mavic Air....not sure if it'd be the same with a bigger drone. I'll check you guys out!
@@30AndAWakeUp That's sweet. Mexico's a really great place. We spent most of our time in Mexico City but also did a pretty cool high elevation volcanic hike. We shared a video about that trip. SO MUCH FUN. Good to know about the Drone. The Mavic Air isn't that much smaller than the Pro and we also only do carry on's....well let's say as long as the carry on meets the weight requirement. LOL. Thanks for considering checking out our channel. Greatly appreciated. Best of luck on your travels. We'll be keeping our eyes on you. (Not in a creepy way of course) :)
Sorry there's some videos I missed so I'm watching them sorry I keep watching your videos cuz I like I like them a lot cuz I won't be able to travel cuz I have no one to travel with because I'm in a wheelchair and I do need some help sometimes happy traveling and have fun in Hawaii I hope you go visit the cross in Hawaii🌺🌺🤙🤙🤙🤙
I didn’t think condo apts that expensive. I’ve been to Lima 6 times over last 8 years. Mostly stayed in Miraflores which is also right next to Baranco an area similar to Miraflores. The temperature in Lima is buffered mild from all that ocean breeze as Lima is high up off a cliff. I was expecting rentals to be cheaper. But compared to like living in Thailand or South Asia it’s way more expensive it seem in Lima Peru.
Yeah, definitely sucks that I cant fly it at Machu Picchu....but Im hiking the Inca trail on the way there...so maybe I'll bet to put it in the air on the way.
Hello' wow Peru' my good friends Jerry and his wife Kathy Wills have been there many times in fact this last year they travel the world to places of history and mystery'they do documentary' Jerry has been on national TV. on discovery channel and the movie series America unearthed in with Scott Wolter in on the mystery of there being ancient artifacts of different races of peoples from the middle east.
Im moving to miraflores soon to a condo we’ve already purchased. Im only 20 y.o so I haven’t done alot of travel so im nervous especially since my mom and sister are staying at the Seattle house for a few extra months before they catch up with me. Overall i hope its not a worldflip but i bet there’s a few things I’ll have to get used to, like the toilet paper thing also the water. I heard i can only cook/drink/clean myself with bottled water?? Is this true??
Hey! I’m an American coming from Atlanta staying in Peru from April 5-16. Would you be interested in a collaborative vlog video.. i have a few sponsors while I’m down there in exchange for video work I’ll be doing for them!
I'm leaving Peru at the end of March for Chile but would have collaborated for sure for sure! I just watched your Machu Picchu video -- good stuff. I'm headed there next week. Any recommendations?
Absolutely! Get a train don’t take a tour to aguas caliente go direct .. tours take longer and don’t leave you at aguas calientes and I missed my train and boy what a hike in rainforest

What a lovely apartment. Peru looks beautiful! It seems Remote Year is a good program.
I did have a great apartment there!
I don't know if you've done this yet, but have you stopped by the mall called Larcomar? It would be great to do a video on that and it's surroundings.
I did! But I was there almost 3 years ago. I need to head back! I miss Peru.
It's so great to see you doing this! I have heard the food there is amazing. Especially the seafood.
Thanks bro. And yes....the food is amazing
I'm officially jealous right now. 😅😊 Very nice!

so this answers the roommate question I asked in your other video, lol Thanks for documenting
You always get your own room though!
Wow in SAN miguel 2 rooms would be around $500 half and hour from Miraflores, 🤓
Thanks for that. I'll try that place when I return.
That. Apartment. Is. CRAZY. I should've requested you as a roommate 🤣
haha...wonder if my luck streak will continue into Chile!

Only drink. You'll be fine with the shower.
$1500 USD??? I'm surprised it's so high
Yep...but we do live in the Beverly Hills of Lima!
In Peru you don't flush toilet paper it's a generalization, sorry you happen to get one of the many, wish you next time you could look f a regular one
thanks for the feed back Ana

Certain parts of Lima are okay. Watch out for the con artists, thieves and prostitutes that are laying in wait for foreigners.
Thanks for the heads up.
