Tears are currently engulfing me listening to this music when l was schooling at Sepe-Buokrom in 1976 my first girlfriend living at Dichemso used to visit me at Asawase every weekend, l had a cassette and we used to play it on my “Da ho bo” sound system,The clock can never be reversed. One man 1000 was so popular across West Africa.May his soul rest in peace.
One of the greatest Ghanaian musicians that ever lived.l remember this song vividly well when he was in his prime in the 70’s. Alex Konadu was a legend May his soul rest in perfect l miss Ghana all the best are gone
My good friend Mensah let me dub this music in the late 80s and I played it until I wore it out. It is so good to hear it again. Alex Konadu was one of the great Ghanaian musicians.
Wow! I am still pondering on what to say. I always listen his songs. Very talented musician. The new crop of musicians nowadays are full of rubbish. Rest well Daddy, we shall meet at the crossroad someday!!!!
Sensible lyrics and very educative songs like this are left to rot whilst we are embracing the Shattas and Bulldogs. 😞No wonder why our youth of today has no knowledge of singing 🎤.Its sad 😭
@k Derby 1st of all, they are two different genres. 2nd of all, Hilife can NEVER fade, as it is the BASIS of our music. Highlife will ALWAYS be in our blood. Even Shatta has a “Hilife” song. 3rd, Bulldog is just a manager, not a musician.
je ne l'ai pas connu mais et je ne pas non plus ce qu'il dit dans la chanson...mais j'aime beaucoup cette music. je voudrais si possible la traduction en français.merci konadu
djoma lamba this song has very long lyrics... it talks about several life issues in one ☝️ song: “He sings about the power of death and then he sings fondly about his long lost love ❤️ called ‘Kessewaa” how he misses her, the food she gives him, etc.”
I share your feelings DeGraft. I had a girlfriend who was Sakyiwaa and I happened to be Kwaku. When she died, I couldn't help but recall our moments in the relationship whenever I listen to this song. I feel that the song resonates to me, and I wish she was here with me as adults so we can share the song and its romance.
