@@theallanting I am not saying I know exactly how to recover from a burnout. I am saying I am in the middle of a bad burnout and looking for ways/help on how to recover. In your talk, you gave tips on how to prevent going into a burnout opposed to how to get out of a burnout. Hey Jordan. Without understanding your history of what you went through, it's a bit tough to give exact recommendations, especially over this message. What I can tell you is that I had applied in my life what I had learned from my 10+ years of research on burnout and that's how I came up with the acronym AIR. I had used Aspiration Integration and Rejuvenation to recover from a few bad burnouts. The first burnout was because I overworked. The second was because of bad relationship.
As a part of Rejuvenation, I meditated, practiced yoga and qigong everyday for about a year. It also gave me time to reflect what's going on with my life and what's most important for me. I've also shared AIR with my clients and they found great results even though they were skeptical at first. Meditate, yoga, qigong and Taichi may not be for you. Maybe it's going for a hike in nature or go on a road trip to a national park. It could be as simple as take short naps during the day as well. What is something that you can do that will relax you and help you feel grounded?

All the things he mentioned (although briefly/unintentional):
    1. Sleep hacking
    2. Meditate
    3. Exercise
    4. Eat high-nutrition foods
    5. Breathe properly (& exercise good posture)
    6. Work on something that makes you come alive (your North Star)
    7. Integrated lifestyle (ala Tai Lopez with this one), not “work-life balance” - my 5c
    8. Be adaptable (mindfulness meditation helps with this)
    9. Rejuvenate through soulful self-care (can be anything from hiking in nature to pamper sessions or a massage)
    10. Upgrade your battery: experience a new culture/environment (change your perspective via traveling, go somewhere new)
    11. Be 200% present: at work, and at home with family (don’t bring home troubles to work, and don’t bring work troubles home)

Exactly!!!!! Many people are furthering the Red Herring that PEOPLE should shoulder the entire burden. The reality is that corporations couldn't care less about burnout and this propaganda prevents people from saying, "wait a second. Capital is intentionally killing Labor." Over the last 80 years Corporations have methodically undermined the power that employees had. Now, as Constantino said, employees have almost no power, are blamed for corporate orchestrated burnout and then replaced.

Find a physical activity that suits you , and do it to clean yourself from stress and anxiety, not for the performance. Surround yourself with positive people and positive vibes. And the best advice that I can give : start a project that excites you . Related to your job , your personal life , your passion , ANYTHING. As long as you find it exciting, that will improve your mood , your energy level , and help you forget about this burn out. Good luck . :)

I’m suffering from burnout. Sometimes I really am afraid I’ll never get my own self back ever.
I’ve been on sick leave for 1 1/2 years. I can’t work for more than 10 hours a week it seems - tried that the last 6 months.
It feels like most people including Allan use the word burnout for conditions that are more mild than the “clinical term” burnout... or... I don’t know...
At least in comparison to his case I must then have extreme severe burnout!
I know this talk is made for the very best intensions.
But being in the middle of a severe burnout i almost start feeling worse when in try all I can to find someone sharing in details how they slowly managed to bounce back again.
When you have burnout you ARE really one your own is the sad truth I seem to have learned.
I’ve been working 50+ hours a week for 15 years with joy but got cptsd - narcissistic abuse from my work (narc boss) which made me burned out so much that I had to quit in the end, even though my working place meant the world to me (created most of it myself) but the boss destroyed everything.
I’ve given my self the diagnose cptsd.
I’ve tried so many things, but it seems like I have not talked to or heard one detailed story about how exactly a person in a position that could be in some way similar to mine got back again.
Does online know of a link to someone talking about their journey back again!? Thank you all and thank you Allan

I have a bit similar story of yours. I’ve officially been diagnosed PTSD by psychiatrist. I do have depression, severe anxiety and burn out. Usually these 3 symptoms go hand in hand. PTSD doesn’t go without depression, and anxiety. I’ve been in these condition due to narcissistic bosses, narcissistic ex husband. After divorce I fell into this condition. All I can say and recommend, what really works for me is therapy with my psychologist and mild antidepressant. So at least I can function and get up from bed. Work so far has been greatest challenge. But as I said, burn out is very similar to depression. And there is no direct way of healing depression. You just need to find what works for you. If you don’t try there will be no result. Wishing you peace and healing ❤️‍🩹

Employees are more and more treated like their job and task is the central part of their life. Like you are on survival mode.
    It is not.
Whenever I am hired on a project I have to spend around 70 hours a week to keep it rolling and still it looks like I'm slacking; so my income is actually less than half I was contracted for.
Fight back and make yourself more important than the company your working for, even if you need to walk on bodies for your liberation.
