I really appreciate the way you talk about the experiments you’re doing. That’s such a huge part of gardening! Trial and error is the name of the game..
Love this video. In New Philadelphia, Ohio- Found you last year! Bummed it’s so cold right now. So glad you’re still doing these videos! What seeds did you end up starting? I did some peppers, tomatoes (I may regret that), some flowers, onions. I did the containers that are connected together- I like your seed starting containers better! Haha! I love how much greens you have coming up I’m going to plant some blooming spinach tomorrow after seeing your garden!
Hello friend!! Glad to see your name again. So far I've started peppers, tomato, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, onion, celery, some herbs. The cold weather has been bumming me out too! Felt sleepy all week.
@@bloomandwiltgardens Today is a wonderful day in my area! I’ve been out in the garden and at the garden center. I was looking at the garden center for some seeds and was so disappointed to find out that they won’t source seed anymore. That’s so sad to me!
Love your orchard & entire garden ❤. Is there anything that you’ve done special to keep the first greenhouse so warm or is it the brand/build of it that keeps it well insulated & warm in there?
Thank you!! 💕 It has been a work in progress over many years. I have 2 greenhouses both very different in how they were constructed and each hold heat about the same. It’s very dependent on the sun. When it’s out, it’s very warm! My hoop shaped greenhouse I grow in ground directly. My other is just for seed starting and keeping supplies in.
I am from Southwest Michigan -quick question. Some of our trees are starting to bud, but we have three nights of below frost temperatures. Should we cover our apple trees?
If they are small enough it wouldn’t hurt, but I’m not very experienced with apple trees just yet to know for sure the right way to approach this. If I think about berries I wouldn’t be concerned until they are actually blossoming.

Life is one big bowl of experiments! They don’t always work out but if we don’t try how do we know!?
Great story about the tree! What a precious memory!😊
We call it the Mark Tree. Mark is my brother 🙂
that spinach looks amazing. So suprised that they didn't have an enclosed container to retain some heat.
Spinach is really hardy and can withstand freezing temps!! I had leaf mulch around these to help.
@@bloomandwiltgardens So, sowing them in the cold - like now would be ideal for seedlings?
@@shellyshetler9268 yep! They should sprout fairly quickly now since it’s warming up
