FYI, "I Fought the Law" was written by Sonny Curtis, who replaced Buddy Holly in The Crickets. It was a hit in 1964 when covered by the Bobby Fuller Four. The Clash covered it in 1979.

I thought it was originally cut by Bobby Fuller Four, and only composed by Sonny.

The Clash's isnway better though and has way overtaken the original or the Bobby fuller 4 version to by proxy earn the title of original 😂

As much as I love the Clash they are not the original band to perform that song. The Crickets did it first, the covered by the Bobby Fuller Four (I think). Dead Kennedys even covered it (it’s something to hear if you can find it 😊).

The Clash didn’t write “I fought the law” The Crickets did and was first recorded by Bobby Fuller. Though they are doing the same leads as the Clash version, I wouldn’t call it a “Clash” song….
