Not to disrespect, but in my opinion this performance had much more mistakes than you'd normally see when watching Green Day, loads of other performances have no mistakes whatsoever/unnoticeable mistakes. However, Billie Joe's vocals were massively on point in this.

I don't know why people expect musicians to sound so perfect live. You have to understand just how hectic and busy their lifestyle is. They don't always get proper rest. There was a lot that went wrong on this set (Billie dropping his pick, Tre's drum busting, the mic squeaking, etc.) and that stuff runs through your head on stage and can take over the whole performance. Green Day is one of the best live bands. In this case they were clearly exhausted and MTV didn't do the best job technically.
