The kid that they cast as young Michael is a good impersonator. They picked the right person to play young Michael

But can he act tho? Being able to dance like Michael isn't enough. Alex Burrall and Jason Weaver both played Young Michael in The Jacksons: An American Dream could act.
We don't need an impersonator. We need an actor. Not to mention a kid doing adult Michael impressions.
And why is it that they always seem to hire a light skin kid to play young Michael, when Michael was clearly dark skin as a child? Nothing too serious, but I’m just wondering he looks absolutely nothing like young Michael lol.

This biopic should have been done in two parts. MJ was a professional child entertainer and up to the The Jackson 5 and The Jacksons - that's part 1 the foundation of his character and development. Then as an independent adult artist, his life and the direction of his career changed so much. Trying to do his life in one film is going to cheat his story and the audience of a brilliant, one-of-a-kind talent, that had a unique life of extensive experiences and fulfilled goals and accomplishments.
That would be ideal.🕺

I can’t wait for this movie. So excited. Jaafar is perfect for this role. I hope this movie does Michael justice. Not only do I want them to show how Michael is the greatest artist of all time and humanitarian. I hope they don’t hold back on showing how Michael was the victim of extortion.

If you had told me what was MJ's first solo album 10 years ago, I would have said Off The Wall 😅. Definitely his SOLO albums during the J5 era surely are underrated to a certain extent.

Oh wow we're getting the whole life story. I'm okay with that, even if some eras get condensed. I thought it was going to be a period piece. Maybe like '82-the end of the bad tour or something. Im looking forward to this movie more than any movie in recent years. Finally something worth actually going to the theater for!

Forever Michael Album was my favorite that I played all the time when I was a teen. I still remember all the songs. This album touches a special place in my heart. I wanna be where you are is another favorite of mine. The beginning music and MJ'S vocals pull you right in. Were almost there. Got to be there. Awesome songs. So much love and passion in those songs.❤️
I would like to preserve Michael's blackneas much as possible. And he was pretty darn dark as a youngster All the way up until his start of vitaligo and lupus I mean if they can find Great cast members for the American dream in the 90s. They can do the same for this huge blockbuster biopic

During my tween/junior high school years, I fell hard for MJ and the J5 (mid-90s). I walked around with the Music & Me album cover, lol. It was the first album I loved- I still do! And boy, did I have a crush on MJ holding that guitar. So, I would love the biopic to highlight his solo teen songs! As for your content, keep doing what you do. I enjoy whatever you post! I'm happy to be a part of the MJ community 30 years later.

As much as I love this time period, I hope the J5 era scenes are mostly depicted in brief flashbacks. Anything more would be redundant, IMO. Thank you for highlighting Michael’s Motown solo career! No one ever seems to talk about it. With a Child’s Heart is my favorite. Take Me Back, Just a Little Bit of You, and We’ve Got a Good Thing Going are others that I love.

They seem to be doing a lot right with this biopic - close family involvement, the screenwriters and directors are of a high standard, Jafar Jackson looks like he can convincingly portray Michael on stage at least. So far, tick, tick, tick. I think this is going to be a very difficult project to do justice but so far it's looking promising.

Michael was 16 when he was working on and when Forever Michael was dropped. It dropped January 16th 1975. I don't remember when this was released because I was not even a month old when this came out. I'm so happy that the family is getting involved with the Michael Jackson biopic and that Jaafar Jackson will be playing his uncle. This maybe somethung special and I look forward to it's release in theaters.

Jordyn Jackson is Jafaar’s older brother he’s Jermaine’s son with his ex wife who’s name I forgot but Jordyn has a Brother named Jeremy Jackson who are all brothers through Jermaine Jackson being their Father.
Music and Me & Forever Michael his voice was changing. Understand that at that time those albums didn't reach the fame of the earlier ones. Because it took fans a minute to get accustomed to the vocal range change.

Still think they should’ve moved it to August 2025 in time for what would have been MJ’s 67th Birthday. Imagine if it gets good, get a $1B or maybe $2B Box Office. Imagine if the film gets split up to Vol 1, 2, and/ or 3, make them 3hrs long. That would’ve been way too epic.

I hope the kid can act and actually audition. I hope he wasn't cast just based on his viral videos on Instagram. Michael started performing when he was 5. It would hard to do a biopic and not touch on his childhood and his years with The Jackson Five. Michael's solo career started during the Jackson Five's years on Motown. Michael's childhood is just as important as his adult years. Michael was the youngest person to perform at the Oscars in 1973. He was 14.
I think they would definitely have to speak on how fans and the media made Prince out to be his rivalry….

MJFanGirl, can you do some history on the J5 song "Corner of the sky". I believe it was on the Skywriter album. That was a favorite of mine. It was kind of an inspirational song that I think was associated with a Broadway Play or book. I don't remember seeing any type of video or footage from Motown on this song. This was way before cable TV and computers💻 😆😂💜

I am not sure why they choose that kid to play young Michael, I would think they would want to choose someone who looks like Michael as a child. I think they should have been more realistic in choosing a actor to play Michael as a child. I watched Elvis biopic and the child they choose actually looked like it could be him. This child chosen to play Michael looks nothing like him at all . If I go to see Michael , I for one would like to see anyone cast as Michael look like Michael.

I hoped they would consider casting a little boy that was a chocolate drop. Michael who's never been light-skinned but in bio depictions, always is. Michael did have vitiligo, and that was in his later adult years of life. Why can't they ever find a chocolate-drop little boy? I'm sure there are millions of them out there that's cute, who have big, pretty eyes like Michael, and who have a chocolate-drop chocolate complexion! Somebody do a bio-pick on this man and try your best. I don't know if it's going to get any better.
Jafari is the best so far that I can see unless there's a young man that comes along that we don't know about that has the family's DNA, and we just didn't know this family member. I just don't understand Chocolate Drop. Why can't they get it right?
