- How to make/sew an easy dog sailor bow. You can put it on the collar and your little pooch is so cute wearing that. This is a straightforward pattern for beginner sewing. Find some cute fabric and start sewing!
You need some cotton fabric, a little elastic and a sewing machine!

This tutorial is amazing!! I’ve made bow ties in the past but it never dawned on me to sew on the elastic like that!! Game changer!

This is the best tutorial I've seen, none of the others have shown how to stitch the elastic on so I've been trying to hand sew it once assembled which of course is a nightmare because at that point the fabric is too thick to get a needle through!

These are the measurements I used for my bow. Finished bow is 7 1/2" x 6 1/2"
Tail is 11"x4"
Middle band 5" x 2 1/2"
Main Bow 12"x 6"

How big is each part of material?
Ok, this bow turned out stinkin' cute and was SUPER easy to make! Thank you for the GREAT tutorial! I think that i will try to enlarge the measurements to make a more substantial bow for a more "substantial" puppy! (I was confused when i first read the materials list! I was trying to figure out how to cut my pieces into triangles. :)

When wrapping the string around the center, are you tying into a not? Or are you only wrapping and it stays?
No, I am not tying a not, the string stays because I tie it strongly.
Can I check the size of the piece for the 'tails'. I've cut 18cm × 8cm but it looks much shorter than yours in the video
It is the right size because at the beginning of the video I cut the tailpiece too long. In the end, I have a short tail ;). I didn't show this in the video that I made it too long at the beginning.
