Devices like this are perfect as a guest-room email, Facebook, & CZcams machine. I can see this as something provided to granny or someone less technically savvy as well.
The only advantage I see in this over a typical mini pc is that you don't have to carry around an HDMI cable.
Can Microsoft Excel from Office load and run on this device? Other Office programs like Word and Visio?
I’d like to know if there’s a version that can handle heavy lifting
I recently purchased one of these units and can attest for lightweight computing (e.g. internet surfing, email, text editing, office apps), this device works adequately. I have it configured to match my desktop PC and use it for portable computing when I don't wanna carry my laptop (e.g. going through airport security). With wireless input (keyboard and mouse) and an LCD panel at my destination location, I can plug this in and function as if I am in front of my home computer. I will endorse that simultaneous use of video streaming DOES IN FACT impact smoothness of performance, for example, if I am in a video call and trying to document notes during the call, text input can be laggy. I would NOT recommend using this device for graphics or video editing.

Okay, I know nothing about these but am I correct in thinking that you can plug it into a Monitor or TV then use a wireless Keyboard & Mouse to use it as a compact PC in tight quarters like an RV ?

How is browser capability and streaming
Can anyone say something regarding the 4k60fps video playing on this device? Can this TOY play such heavy files without interrupting or delays from the external HDD? Thanks in advance folks.
Looking for something I can just use to surf the internet and check e-mail and can attach to my roku smart tv. I can use my tv itself for video streaming like youtube. So no over heating issues just doing web browsing? Have you continued to use this computer stick over the long term? Any idea how it holds up?
This would handle that well. I didn't have any overheating issues even when running Minecraft.
Seems good to me, what about basic office apps like document editors, web editors, spreadsheets?
Runs them just fine.
Can you connect an external hard drive to it?
Thinking this might be a good "PC" to use exclusively for gSender with my CNC, any thoughts Jerad?

I have 2 of these i've been playing with a little bit are these legit? Something seems off about these like no windows loading screen, and they're cheaper than a windows license itself.
Yeah, that seemed a little weird as well. Mine still works though and I know a guy who is using four of them in his restaurants for digital signage.
Its small size and low price appear to be its only virtues beyond laptops, which can just as easily be linked to external monitors and keyboards. I have a friend who is blind and obviously doesn't require a monitor. The Windows operating system has narrator, and probably could run Jaws as well, both of which are text to speech facilities.
Interesting product. Given that its running windows, I take it that it would also need regular updating and restarts, anti-virus, etc. Too bad power is so weak but I suppose for single tasks like displaying a power point or playing a looped video enough. Not sure if its worth the $186 black Friday price though. Seems like a Raspberry Pi 4 is a better buy even it that was a few dollars more.
Antivirus is built into Windows.

@@NaturalBornLowlander Not many notebooks in this price range offer full windows 11. If windows in S mode is okay a notebook would be better if you want to pack it around.
In this day and age of smart TVs, computers easily hook up to internet--seems like an expensive redundancy,. Though I did see someone in comnments mention that it could hook up to motel TV for greater flexibility in TV viewing.

Certainly powerful enough for Excel.
Can I make a sort of small server for home?
Certainly. I'm installing one in my RV to run software that my solar energy system runs. As long as the software you need can run on the system specs, do it!

Can it be remoted into from a Mac?
Yes, using something like Chrome Remote Desktop or Team Viewer.

The bottom plate can be removed with a wedge (think guitar pick) they come in cell phone or pc repair kits.
if using ethernet, can the wi fi then be turned off?
Yes, just like you can on any windows pc.

Yes, but I would make sure to connect it every 30-days to make sure software updates are completed.
