Every one of your points are excellent and well said. Particularly your comments about the 800 being so tactical. As a fan I hate these late season starts with little to no racing up to the trials but I totally get it. Mu is following her coach's plan and Kersee is looking at August 2nd-5th (Olympic women's 800 prelims/final) to have her at peak. He's one of the best in the business at that strategy and I think Sydney is going to be dialed. But man the 800 is SO MUCH more than peaking at the right time. Kersee knows that and was willing to take that risk with Mu. Sad it turned out this way.

Her not competing really worked against her .

Def didn’t help her at all.

Well, at least by not competing she didn’t have to deal with so many drug tests.

Correct assessment. You right about the fight. I know what that feels like. I got bumped before in the 110 hurdles, and fell. Got my behind up and finished 3rd. Keep College hope alive. She'll be back stronger and determined, she is a record holder. Someone else said the runner she tripped on was the one who fell last time. What you think about that.✌

Exactly, running 2:19 was not a test of her abilities. It’s quite poetic how Nia Atkins won this trials after falling last trials. Mu should take note.

Agree. She wasn’t running confidently even through the rounds. I felt bad for her.

Her parents immigrated from South Sudan. How does South Sudan feel about America?

Looking at the anatomy of the fall, which I did, Athing suddenly began to cut inside, and this caused her to immediately get entangled with Raevyn Rogers' right leg. Why did Athing cut in? Maybe to try to head out to take the lead right at that point? That would be my best guess but I'm not sure. But with 20/20 hindsight I think we can say that Athing should have kept going straight in her acceleration *before* cutting in. She knew someone was right behind her so best to establish some distance from that person before making a sudden cut inside. I'm not blaming Athing, more trying to analyze how the fall happened and how it best could have been avoided. Your thoughts? I feel so bad for her. So easy to have a fall occur in such a tightly-packed group.

Her action spoil the chance of FOUR athletes - qualifying for Paris 2024.

I just watched it again to see if what you said is accurate. I was thinking maybe it was, but now I don’t think it is. The winner, Nia, was one persons affected as was the third place finisher, who also qualified. And another, Raven Rogers, she was left right next to Nia afterwards, so basically with the other runners, so I don’t think we can say it ruined her chances. Here’s a link to the race, go to about the 40 second mark and the fall happens about five seconds later. And then pause it right after the fall and you can see where everyone is as they continue racing after the fall. czcams.com/video/ro4MJT0HsCs/video.htmlsi=Iv9qJnF17xB4EmxI let me know your thoughts, maybe I am missing something.
