Back in the day this was the first cassette tape that I bought, I was 16, semi depressed and still trying to figure things out, this got me through some difficult times and gave me hope. I am 37 now, have a family two wonderful kids and a wife but this still takes me back to my boyhood room, that table and chair set by the window and for a moment I can feel the breeze in my hair again. You eventually get through it, the seemingly unbearable pain the feeling of despair, nothing lasts for ever.
Am turning 25 and it's comments like this keep me going,you are a beautiful human for letting us know it's ight,sending you love and amazing vibes to your and your loving fahm!❤

True story: This song changed my life.
Spent my entire adult life working around the world.
In 2004 I'd already spent 3 months in Indonesia, headed for home via Australia and had to stay there for a month and then had to go to Malaysia.
Was at a record shop and picked up Dido's new (at that time) album.
Listened to this track on my laptop in my hotel room and I realised that I WAS allowing my life to be for rent.
We (mostly) all need a job but I realised that I'd reached a point where my life was something that was happening on the other side of the world while I was away earning money.
I enjoyed my old life, and cherish the friends I made, but my LIFE was at home with my family and I was renting out my life instead of living it.
Took a couple more years but I found myself a normal job and settled into a happy family life.

growing up as an African kid I listened to dido, I played her songs on repeat all day everyday. In a world of afrobeats and afropop and reggae music this was quite odd. This song got me through the time when I had kind of a crush on my professor. Not really a crush but he was such a man. The way he talked or presented himself in the class was saying he IS a man. And my father left me and my mom for another life in a different country. So as a teenager I've never had this role model of a man. And my professor was the first guy I recognised as a man. He was in his early 30s I think and married. It was more of platonic love. And this song was a boomer those days. And I had a cassette with it . I remember studying to this song or just listening and thinking one day I'll meet my man I'll be happy with. The one who will be exactly like my professor with manly attitude. Still haven't met this guy. But thank you Dido for your songs. I bet you helped a lot of people to get through rough times.
