  • In this video I will show you how to install a Glow Shift aftermarket transmission temperature gauge in a Jeep Cherokee XJ.This process may be similar on other Jeep models such as the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler. I will show you how to do the whole job from start to finish. If you have any other questions that the video doesn't cover make sure to comment below and I would be happy to answer.

    I burnt the last AW4 my XJ had i bought it with black trans oil so i know it was going soon but damn it didnt go easy those are built tough and mixed with the 4.0 no wonder so many of these are still on the road. I got a used one in GREAT condition and shifts so smooth like theres butter in the trans lol im putting a gauge on it soon

    I was just wondering if the size of the body of the brass T piece could affect the readings on the gauge. Hot air coming through the rad could warm the brass and give an incorrect signal..... just a thought.

      Heat transfer from the trans fluid through convection will far outtake any outside temperatures.

    I personally would have put it on the hot side coming from the Trans, to see how hot it is getting, rather than see how effective the cooler is

    • @OutJeeping
      @OutJeeping  Před 3 lety +1

      I used 14 gauge wire which is plenty for this application, you could get away with 16 gauge as well.

      @@OutJeeping I got one of those cheep three core radiator and it started leaking pretty bad. I replaced it with a two core aluminum radiator from Cold Case and it has been fine since. The inside cooling tubes on a Cold Case radiator are much larger than a three core one.
