The town of South Park has exactly 6 black people in it. At first, it was just the school's lunchroom chef, Chef. After a season or two, we also meet a classmate named Token Black (later renamed to Tolkien for a joke to make fun of the apparently only 3 people in town that thought his name was Token) and his parents, the Blacks. Eventually, Chef died and brought us down to just the Blacks. Much later on, a new black girl moves to town and joins the class, so her and her parents bring the town's African American population up to 6.
RIP Chef, my favorite black guy in a show.

Without the context of the episode, Randy saying the N word and all the crap Cartman spouts out may just portray the show as overtly offensive but this show has a lot to say about the crap that happens in the real world.
Its not Family Guy or something. SP gets away with "offensive" shit because they usually use it to point out the ignorance of things like racism and prejudice. We are in no way supposed to agree with Cartman

They recently retconed the series to change the black kid's name to Tolkein. They even had to closed captioning changed to reflect the new spelling.
The joke being that his name was Tolkein the whole time and that we are all racist for thinking it was Token.

South Park is one of the few offensive shows I actually like because everyone is a target. It doesn't only make fun of one specific demographic all the time, like Family Guy or American Dad does.

South parks a fun but very long watch. It’s a clever show with even some of the older episodes still having thematic relevance.
The thing about older South Park is that it was offensive, but in a way that made a point. That episode where Randy said the N-word on Wheel of Fortune was about him getting this stigma and everyone calling him "N***er guy." Which, as he put it were "two harmless words that become become a symbol of hate when combined." Then he went to congress and got that specific combination of words (but not either individual word) outlawed. Because the senators were a bunch of white guys who were like "I say N***er all the time. I don't want someone calling me N***er guy."
They have black people, his name is"Token" if you can believe that.

While the clips are funny enought, the context in the whole episode makes it 10x better, alot of this might seem offensive out of context but the whole episodes are actually really clever satire and they don't just pick sides, they terget everyone and everything. Highly recoment watching full episodes, old and new.
Eric is definitely the biggest problem child of the group. Kenny might be second on that list but that’s just cuz he can be outta pocket a lot, Kyle and Stan are just kinda rowdy kids who sometimes do some fucked up stuff, while cartman does awful shit on purpose, usually if he thinks it’ll benefit himself. For example in the Tourette’s episode, cartman sees a kid who actually suffers with Tourette’s “getting away with” saying things because he can’t control it. Cartman obviously wants to say whatever he wants to anyone so that’s why he fakes it, it’s not for sympathy or anything, it’s just cuz he wants to be a dick with no repercussions. Kids a menace. Also they are in fourth grade aka 9-10 years old.
