  • Model Railroad Pallets & Drums seem insignificant. It's these types of small details that really make a scene pop. Furthermore, they are easy to assemble and easy to paint.

Thanks for your response. I REALLY enjoy and have learned a lot with your series, a lot! Last
comment: boat landings, including floats and tugs need two "things" ---thus two wind socks---to know when they are in the channel.....even with buoys, you can't be sure you're in the channel as you approach the pier. These thing s can be anything from two white poles, to two big lights...lined up with the center of the channel

I agree, the Tichy 55 gal drums are great and my railroad is full of them . One neat thing, you can model them "lidless" (is that a real word?), uh, open... 😅

Surely NICE like those pallets mate, but 1/87 is unfortunately "SORRY" out of scale (1by220😉) for me! 🫣...😴...Very thin etched Nickel- SILVER maybe?! 🫠😍

For once I'm already on board with you, Boomer. I've had the Tichy drums and pallets as details on my layout for some time now. I've also installed HO track worker tools, car jacks, and similar stuff from them. Their details are excellent, in my opinion, and their cost is quite reasonable, too. Cheers from Wisconsin!

Boomer, what great details. We appear to struggle to get good 44 and 55 gallon drums in Australia, but some good drums on pallets really look the part, either in a freight yard or in an open wagon load. I will now have to search for these Tichy Group models.
Thank you for sharing, and I am going to try your paint tip for the lid, your drums look amazing.
    Cheers, and stay safe, Michael

Burnt Umber is the most underrated color in model railroading. It is almost the perfect universal wash for most subjects, especially scenery.
