Well...that episode escalated quickly...Ming went from hurt, misunderstood, unrequited lover to straight up psychopath REAL quick, oh my. I mean, I can't even defend Ming's actions...He was acting like Joe was just some toy being taken away from him and threw a temper tantrum. But kudos to Joe who didn't give Ming one inch. Now we will hopefully have an awesome redemption arc coming!

I think that’s because we actually have backstory for Vegas and can feel compassion for him. Where we are so far with Ming, we don’t honestly know much about him. So all of his actions just make him look like a jerk.

It's safe to say that Ming was obsessed with the idea that Joe was so in love with him and the idea that Joe could ask him to move out and for them to break up really changed the power dynamics( but I'm happy Joe can see clearly and he's assertive in and knows he deserves the best and not allow Ming manipulate him). I can't wait for Joe to be the one who's hard to reach and for Ming to try and be left hanging all the time, he has to experience triple of what Joe experienced craving for his attention and love

Amazing edit! I really don't see how Ming can redeem himself after episode 4, to be honest. He already lied to Joe, used him from the start, and treated him like trash, but now we can add, hitting him a few times, not taking no for an answer, knocking him out, kidnapping him, locking him up and ruining his career to the point that he was blacklisted and he had to join the movie set that caused his death to get a job...

I'm not watching this drama directly but I am through others' reactions and Ming is SOMETHING XD There's also just something about him being played by Up that I can't take serious XXD This was a fantastic edit especially with the song choice!
Tbh Up is trying his best but he still comes off as…hmm stiff? Like his facial expression doesn’t do angry very well…it’s still more like, blank than angry. So it’s not 100% the best choice in actor but nothing I can’t over look

Ok lets real talk. We all love Up, I mean he's adorable, right? I hate Ming so much that I can't help but have huge respect for Up. I'm actually having a hard time watching this because of all the red flags. Our poor boy Joe is a mess but we've got to respect Up for the hatred he's created in all of us.

I feel like we are all misunderstanding Ming. His love was sick and twisted, and it began for all the wrong reasons. But I really feel like he loved Joe all along. He just never got the chance to say that. He didnt lock up Joe because of Tong, he did it because of his jealousy towards Sol. About him crying over Tong, he loved that man for over 4 years, those feelings take time to fade. He was not right but he suffered so much for 2 years, Joe's body was not fund, Ming never got any closure, not knowing whether his love is dead or alive. I dont think he deserves any more hate guys.
No, there’s no misunderstanding here whatsoever, the decisions he made does not take away the fact that there are consequences for his actions. We all know he “loves” Joe and hasn’t fully realized or disconnected that from Tong. And yes he’s jealous of Sol and lovesick from his unrequited love. But that in no way excuses his actions. He deserves all the hate he’s getting right now. Just like any other character would in his place. Just like if a real person pulled that crap! Police would be called if this wasn’t a drama and someone did the same thing. Would you be so sympathetic if it happened to you or a loved one? Ming committed kidnapping and assault, you cannot sugar coat that with ‘well yeah but he was really upset about Joe going missing.’ Who wouldn’t miss their favorite toy disappearing? And up to this point in the story we’ve seen practically nothing yet of Ming’s attempt at redemption. So no, there are no misunderstandings. And you shouldn’t romanticize or excuse him. He did and made bad decisions. It can’t just be swept under the rug like no big deal. Now that doesnt mean he can’t redeem himself, like any criminal making amends. And that doesn’t mean you can’t still have compassion for him. But yeah, he deserves to suffer and have hate right now. Forgiveness comes much, much later
I agree with everything you say, except for the part about Ming missing his favorite toy. I think he loved Joe, really loved him as a person. He was just too psycho to express it properly.
This relationship is way too toxic, I don't even think that Joe should get together with Ming again, hell I don't think they should have gotten together in the first place even. Joe should have figured out that Ming was a Red flag the moment he called him "just a stand-in ", no one should date anyone who calls out on their insecurities. Just saying that Ming did love Joe, and because of that he has suffered, suffered more than we assume he did.
I think only part of him somewhat loves Joe. Up to this point I feel like it’s more of being obsessed with him. He’s been in a one-sided love for so long that when someone finally shows him romantic affection, he doesn’t know how to accept it. And when he’s threatened with that affection and comfort being taken away, he goes nuts. Throwing basically a temper tantrum because his new toy is leaving. But escalates it majorly. I don’t think it’s really love, but obsession and jealous and being upset he’s about to lose. And I think he won’t ever sort out those feelings until Joe does disappear.But we haven’t seen that part of the show except for about five minutes of it. So it’s too early to just assume anything about him and what he’s gone through to this point.
Ming is still waiting for Joe after 2 years, with an extra bowl of food, would he have done that if Joe was just a toy? If Joe was just that he would have moved on already. Also if Ming is still just throwing a temper tantrum after 2 years, and had no real feelings for Joe what would the meaning of this story even be?
We all have our own opinions I guess. Let's just wait and see how the story unfolds..

So he’d again be abandoned, alone, and unloved. So of course he’s going to hold on to the only person that’s shown him affection. That doesn’t make it love.
I’m not sure why you say let’s wait and see how the story unfolds. Because it seems pretty obvious we’re going to see Ming’s redemption where he’s figured out what love it and how to express it. Are you expecting something different?
I think you missed the part where I mentioned Ming hasn’t figured it out yet and needs that time for Joe to be gone to understand and sort out his feelings. You can’t judge current Ming based on his actions 2 years later when he’s had time to mature. Because current Ming and his “love” of Joe wasn’t ever like that. Ming constantly talked down to him and just used him, like a toy. He wouldn’t be as endearing to him then as we can assume he will be 2 years later waiting at home for him and cooking for him. Because Ming in 2 years it’s easy to say he loves Joe because that’s how you demonstrate love. But current Ming wouldn’t do that. Which is why I say it’s not love. Because everything he did to Joe is not how you treat someone you love, literally verbal and physical abuse. And yes we all have our own opinions about what love is but I hope that’s not how you interpret love ☹️ That is the opposite of love, what he has can have many different names like obsessions, codependency etc, and emotions connected to it but love is not it, and ppl misinterpret those actions as love because we romanticize it. Like awww he kidnapped him because he loves him….no! Now once he sorts through his feelings and grows he can actually have love. But currently none of his actions were based on love, they were jealously, fear, heartbreak, obsession, possessiveness, etc. And Joe is smart enough to know that, which is why he yells at Ming when he leaves that no, Ming doesn’t love him. But we are all guessing and hoping that during these 2 years Ming will realize what his feelings were and fix himself so he can love properly (which is what we saw with him waiting 2 years later).
But if that’s how you imagine love we’re just going to have to agree to disagree.

I don’t like to throw the word Toxic around because most ppl really understand what it means. But Ming in this case IS the definition of a toxic person in a relationship. To the point he kidnaps that person. It’s not even a question. He IS toxic.
Now that doesn’t mean no one can understand him. (though thus far the writers have not given us much past information about him, except for the fact that he’s rich, which is not a excuse for having toxic behavior and in fact makes it worse because he’s only reason for this behavior is being a rich brat unlike let’s say Vegas-who underwent constant abuse and was raised to be mafia) but just because you know an apple came from a tree doesn’t mean it’s not still an apple. Ming is toxic, but hopefully that will change over the next few eps
That’s because one small, minuscule act of devotion against everything he’s done so far (he literally kidnapped Joe and has treated him like garbage 80% of the time they’re together, and has been using him as a stand-in in the bedroom this whole time) doesn’t amount to much. Ppl will talk about the change in Ming when they ACTUALLY see it. He needs to do much more than just appear waiting in their apartment. That’s not even a drop in the bucket. But he’ll get there over the next few episodes. For now the convo is focused on his outrageous behavior which is understandable because, did you not just see the 90% of the horrible things he did in only one ep to Joe? It’s going to take time

Probably because Vegas’s behavior was explained. Lots of emotional, mental, and physical abuse from his dad and raised in the mafia life. He was broken and we could see how and why and we could see those small snippets where he tried to have hope. Where Ming is just a spoiled brat 😅 we haven’t really gotten any history on him to explain his behavior besides being born to a rich family. Makes it hard to find compassion and connect.
P.S. Vegas is one of my fav characters 🤣 and never did I feel like I needed to slap some sense into him, where Ming I feel like shaking him uncontrollably several times an episode 🤦♀️

You know I've seen many a toxic relationship, but i think this is the worst. Like, Day and Itt, they were bad and toxic on both sides, but they loved each other, like genuinely. Vegas and Pete. Vegas treated Pete horribly, but realized that he actually loved Pete, and that he was the only one who made him happy, they lived each other. The other couple from Love Syndrome you know which one I'm talking about. They were all toxic, but realized they loved each other (were already in love in the case of Day and Itt) and ended up valuing each other.
On that note, Joe and Ming are by far the most TOXIC couple I have seen. More or less on Ming's side of this, sadly, one sided love so far. Mu boy Joe deserves so much better than Ming. I hope their story ends on a good note though, and both are happy, whether it be with each other, or other people.

Ming is a different kind of terrible. He's not an unsympathetic mafia guy, really. He just messed up his relationship with Joe. But somehow, that single mistake makes him less forgivable.
I think it’s because at least all of these other heartless red flag type characters we’ve been given their backstory at least so we understand why they are acting the way they do. But we don’t know anything about Ming other than his rich. So he just looks like a complete a$$ for no reason :/

Like those people are stupid shallow Simps and also what message the show gives like in love syndrome and kinnporshe like staying with the abuser falling for them ,but at least in my stand In Joe left he wanted to break up even though he from the beginning could have avoided it all if he didn't ignore the obvious red flags
