Ian McShane was supposed to be the Soul Hunter but Sheen saw the script and said I want that part.
And that was that.
And then he freakin' mailed in his performance. They should have gone with the original idea: McShane would have made a much better Soul Hunter
@@exile220ify Martin Sheen was a casting coup. At this time, McShane was largely known for a show in the UK called Lovejoy. He hadn’t hit it big here yet.
I think this might be Ian McShane's first appearance in an American show; before this, he was best known on British tv in the comedy/drama/mystery show Lovejoy. Funnily enough, he also played someone who dealt in ancient artefacts in that show.
Yes! back in the day we referred to this movie as "that one with Lovejoy"!
No he did quite a bit of US TV in the 80's including a stint on Dallas.
If i recall correctly, i believe Tracy Scoggins was a fan of both Susan Ivanova and Claudia Christian; which is what made her uncomfortable yet willing to take the role of Lochley.
She was a fan of B5 in general and was very enthusiastic to be part of B5
The Loc-Nar would fit in perfectly well in the B-5 universe as some collective First One entity.
When Mega truly became a Lochead!
I mean...
This is more of a pure science fiction story than normal Babylon 5 stories.
The A and B stories complement each other: Is anyone entitled to the image/likeness/soul of another without permission. The race was taken and kept; Lochley's likeness was used without her permission, as were others who brought photos to be used to construct fantasy versions.
Ian McShane and Martin Sheen are both great in this movie :)
Team Lochley
Also some of the music used by Christopher Franke in this episode is simply stellar.
This is unofficially a season six episode 😂😂
Lol,the head of the electro ic brothel, all I could think of was Alamarain, count to gor four, etc...
Reminds of an episode of Black Mirror a bit.
Yes, Lochley was a good character, and one who had potential, just it was going to take time, the time she didn't have (alas) for it all to be shown
Watch while you can. i had to dispute a block. No idea how long it will be up...
@@MegaReacts thanks dude, we will :P
im sorry but the no sound track reactions are hard to watch :/
i wonder if brent and jeff will figure something out for theirs
@@user-iu4jl7pz3e My appeal got approved for this one. So it's good. I may try to re-upload the other and reappeal.
It is cool that Lochley wasn't just left as a final season character! JMS has kept bringing back the character in pretty much every project afterwards which is neat.
@@lizardkingsliwinski4031 she plays it really well, and i highly recommend the comicon reunion that is on youtube :)
she's just a great person, they all are :))
Always liked this one.
OK, got to be honest. It's my first time watching this movie, despite being a 90's watcher of B5. It's only Mega and B5 for the First Time that have persuaded me to catch up. Was expecting it to be bad, but rather enjoyed it, like Mega. I think most of it holds up, but the last 15 minutes may be a little too cheesy. I thought Ian McShane was an excellent addtion, hadn't anticipated that, but he's only really a character in the first half sadly. Martin Sheen was surprisingly poor, but he has a few good moments. On the whole, thumbs up.
Martin Sheen completely mailed it in, and that's why this movie sucks. McShane should have been the Soul Hunter.
