You do realize the hormones and the emotions are linked, right? Just because you can definitively name the physical cause/source of the emotions doesn't mean they're not emotions.
Mythraen> I'm a zoologist, so of course I know that hormones are related to emotions, but only in humans and other animals capable of having true emotions. That would be an extremely small number of animals, maybe dolphins and chimps and a couple of others, and the emotions in them are limited.
Hormones are also related to instinctive behavior, and instinctive behavior is not the same as emotions. When a bird sits on an egg, it isn't doing that because if feels love for the egg. It's doing it because it's increased hormones cause it to instinctively want to sit on the egg. Just because you call instinctive behavior an emotion does not make it an actual emotion.

I have to disagree with the notion of "true emotions"
All emotions are product of chemical reaction, that influence our body and our brain, that why this experience with rats having a button that when pressed delivered triggered their brain's dopamin production worked.
The notion of "true emotions" is debetable, since every feeling is caused by a chemical reaction, what makes them so different of "lesser emotions"? The complexity they have? In the end it's the same, certains conditions/events causing a response from the brain

@@williamhrivnak7345 a lot of zoos (where I'm from on the us) show African penguins instead of the Antarctic varieties I think to save money from the cooling to make it "natural"
penguins teach me how easy life I have comparing to theirs. Their desperate effort in order to keep their baby cool in life-threatening high temperature was quite touching.
I observe penguins live for others, they are united to save other penguins.

Besides saving people with medicine is damaging the earth because we are over populated. Letting humans die would be much more convenient and is provably also a "natural selection". So according to your argument, we should let people also die and not interfere?

1.) Penguins getting killed because of climate change is not natural. Nature doesn't want this, it's a human caused effect.
2.) Even if it were "natural", saving them wouldn't be "unnatural". Maybe nature gave us humans the power to save so we should be doing it? How do u define "natural" anyway?

@@MJsaBitterLemon So like humans in general then. Just replace the smell with facial features and it's the same. They rely on audible and olfactory cues, where we rely on audible and visual cues.
