Not only was it a surprise that no one expected, they managed to fly in to Hong Kong without anyone knowing. Considering how fans seem to always know idols every single move, that still seems so insane to me that they managed to pull that off. I genuinely cried watching this for the first time back then when I saw Bom popping up from under the stage. I still get chills every time I watch this performance now. I don't think I'll ever stop being Blackjack, I love these girls so much.
Omg Yeaaasss!!!!! I was so surprised too! When Bom came out like how did they manage to sneak in last minute!!!?? Crazy, I will NEVER EVER stop being a BlackJack cuz homeboy is right, no shade but 2NE1 is the only group I ever felt the literal hype in my room watching them perform live!

actually have some rumours that day. some ppl keep saying 2ne1 will go MAMA2015 but we don't think they will perform cus we cant see 2ne1 name on the MAMA performer's list.

Man I was in tears when they performed and thought this was a sign of a comeback. They disbanded shortly after this. My heart is still broken. 2ne1 left one hell of a void in the kpop community.

sooooo, a little background story on the 2ne1 performance, NOBODY knew the girls were gonna be there. it was a surprise, there was a scandal with Bom (red hair) and we hadn't heard from her in MONTHS, it was the first performance with all 4 of them and we thought that meant we were getting a comeback soon BUT life SUCKS and they disbanded a few months after this. so it is (to my knowledge) the last 2ne1 performance as a whole.
I agree with you, 2NE1 is all about having fun and hyping up the stage and treating it like it is their playground. Other groups are more focused on their synchronized choreo and their visuals. That's why nobody could ever be on the same level as them especially nowadays groups. Their energy is totally unbeatable. đȘđœđ„

I've watched this performance of CL and 2NE1 so many times and never get tired of it. 2NE1 got me into K-pop back in 2011 and will always be my queens.

I remeber 2ne1. THEY ARE ICONIC. At the time, girl groups only portray a sweeter, calmer, good girl image. 2NE1 WAS FIERCE. Together with Bigbang, they rocked the kpop scene. First time that a girl group held a badass image. YG Entertainment was known for their strong performances, look at Blackpink now. When they come on stage, they bring fire w them. They really did shape the industry. I Am The Best used to be THE ANTHEM.

You need to check out their songs that show off their vocal skills. My favorite 2NE1 songs are (not in order): "Ugly", "I Love You", "It Hurts", "Lonely", "If I Were You"....Oh....I like all of them.

Also after this performance everyone had hopes of a comeback which CL had worked on a full length album for the group and left America to continue as a group after Minzy (member that did the split) left in 2016 and months later the rest of the girls found out they were disbanded through THE INTERNET. They ended up releasing one last song as a trio called Goodbye for their fans in which the lyrics ask Minzy not to leave đ

That's what I love about YG artists, they always sing live and knows how to have fun on stage. They don't do hard choreo most of the time (because of the live singing) but their stage presence is on another level.

Can we go back to the time where K-Pop was 100% Live and Raw? Where fans aren't picking over messy hair or unstable live vocals... Singers are DANCING WHILE SINGING It's normal to have your voice not be perfect every time. 2NE1 was so raw. I miss 2nd Gen K-Pop and their hand-held mics!!!

Wait until you see, i dont care rock version live and their epic live performance at psy's concert in Seoul Stadium 2013, 2ne1 is known for their live performances. Queens.
I remember so much went down leading up to that performance. It's a long ass story, won't bore you much with that lmao in short, 2ne1 went on a significant hiatus shortly after their very successful comeback with their Crush album. I also remember there were reports saying that there wasn't a lot of rehearsals due to time constraints ig, not even a soundcheck to make sure the surprise wasn't spoiled at all. I was streaming from work, and remember BAWLING my eyes out when the other girls came out ESPECIALLY Bom (the red haired girl). She went through so much and everybody just missed her so if you notice people going especially crazy whenever she's singing during that performance, it was because of that. God, even years later, this performance continues to give me goosebumps. Thank you so much for reacting to this and I'm so happy you enjoy my best girls!

CL is my favorite artist of all time, and she is only getting better with time. Her art is genuine, fresh, and original. I'm a fan from the USA, and I have been a blackjack / gzb for over a decade now. I adore these ladies.

There is actually one performance where Bom, who has red hair here, loses her shoe and KEEPS PERFORMING. They just shuffle it out of the way until she can sneak her foot back in.
Itâs crazy that you say theyâre mainly the ones who drop it like it hots essentially, cause YG, their old boss told them, especially to CL, itâs their job to hype the crowd etc. Thatâs the pressure these girls were under.
