Windows Defender Virus and Threat Hide
Step 1 :
1. Open Regedit
2. Open HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender
3. Create 2 Dword
DisableAntispyware = 0
DisableRealtimeMonitoring = 0
0 = false
1 = true
4. open Windows Defender
if Not work try it
Step 2 :
1. Open Windows PowerShell in administrator
2. Set-MpPreference -UILockdown 0 (enter)
this work for me :
windows home edition home. in another version idk

I am not able to write in the registry part. When I am clicking on DWORD 32-bit, it's showing can not write to the registry.

I got this problem, i tried this but it didnt work, i fixed it by Going to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Policy Manager then changed the "AllowUserUIAccess" to 1
Edit: For those who didnt see this "AllowUserUIAccess", try creating one (REG_DWORD) then see if it works, its been a while since ive checked on this so i have forgotten. also make sure its in that directory

Same problem, solved with Step 2 :
1. Open Windows PowerShell in administrator
2. Set-MpPreference -UILockdown 0 (enter)!
Man, you are a legend.
I spent 30 mins trying every fix from registry editing, group policy, repairing etc.
Powershell one worked for me.. Thanks heaps!
The Set-MpPreference -UILockdown 0 doesn't work for me it says it failed and step 1 doesn't work either.

I would suggest it to others viewers that you guys should first remove any forms of virus present in your computer. For the virus removal download and use Microsoft Safety Scanner and use it to clear any possible virus available on your device. After that removal, restart your PC and apply the steps given in the video.

@Matas Kazlauskas search for edit group policy ; choose administrative templates in computer configuration. Then, go to windows components, find microsoft defender antivirus (click it). After that, u will see the "turn off microsoft defender antivirus", double click on it and choose enable and then apply

it didn't work .. I have tried all the methods from several videos , the fact is virus and threat protection windows is opening and I can access the window where we have to switch on and off the real time protection but it is locked I can not turn it on ,.... I am so mad right now that I want to break my laptop
