There are many more such cases where alcohol played a major role in the progression of our species. And, there are many other cases where alcohol was a detriment.

I know the networks wanted the drama and the show sucks now, but still. Alcohol is a great way to make sure almost everybody screws up and doesn’t make it through the process with a raging addiction at the end!
