    I bought mine at BCF ( boating camping fishing) store in Australia. Blade was razor sharp. Saw blade was extremely handy. I love it. But the neighbors look at me funny when I'm cutting branches of my tree in the front yard. It feels good . I'm 6 foot 3. So it's a perfect length. Being a Serb! I love blades. I love this Gerber! Top video. Cheers from Australia 🙂👍👍👍

    Sticker leftovers are easily removed with regular MAYONNAISE. Just put a little bit all over the sticker residue and scrub with any kind of rag or sponge and it will come of. For tougher and thicker residues just leave it for a while until it loosens the material. One or more applications could be necessary. It works every time. Thanks a lot for your great videos! Keep up the good work! 💪🏽

    And you know what's even better about that machete? They made a shorter Jr. variation of it, for those who think having a longer blade is an issue for them.
    Same great blade, just shorter and easier to handle in close quarters. It's my preferred machete when traveling in the mountains.

  • @lebensgefahrrr
    @lebensgefahrrr Před 4 lety +11

    In Russia I bought this machete under Truper brand. It is cheapest machete I found. In fact the saw is needed to be resharpened. By default it is not sharpened and actually blunt. The teeth of the saw was formed and sharpened by stamping and it can't be sharp. Factory sharpening of the blade was made with the too big degree (total angle of the edge is about 90). After sharpening total angle is about 60 degrees. I used Fiskars axe sharpening tool for resharpening the blade of this machete. I used triangle file for saw sharpening. Now it is really works great. Steel this machete made of is not a bad. It can be sharpened as razor.

    I have this blade also liking the brand Gerber, I believe using the lanyard as a wrist strap could make it unsafe if drops it should drop clear of you, I seen people put thingers through grip and lanyard works for southern England countryside bracken tall wide sharp annoying, sheath too big hole for nail or whatever. Africa South America use much thicker as used very regular. a lot more expensive for real good models such as gerber

    Theres 2 versions of this. One is the "outdoor" version. They are quite different even though they look the same. I'd recommend taking the handle off it in a review because once you see how little blade is in the handle (2 inch and heavily tapered) should make you double think the safety of this product. Should've also showed the viewers how flimsy-bendy this is. A lot of them actually come bent like a see-saw from factory. All of these things should be included in the video - I can't even tell which model of the gerber gator this is. Honestly it's one of the worst machetes you can buy that is from a known brand. You'd have a hard time finding lower quality. A review that doesn't even get close to that conclusion is too generic of a review.

    This machete is horrible and dangerous. It has a bad history of the blade breaking in half at any moment when swinging and the tip goes flying away because the steel is so brittle. It chips up way to easy. Just do a quick Google of gator machete fails and you will see how dangerous it is.
