Toyooka Craft Fountain Pen Box 60 - Unboxing & First Impressions!

- In April of this year, I had one fountain pen. Just my Lamy 2000. In August, I decided to buy the Franklin Christoph CPT12 because at the time I was up to seven pens. It is currently December 10th and I am now up to 22 (tomorrow it will be 23) fountain pens! I went WAY overboard into this hobby but you can't stop me now!
I decided to upgrade my pen storage (again) but this time get something that not only safely protects them but is in and of itself, a beautiful piece of furniture. The Toyooka Craft Fountain Pen Box 60 is fairly new in their line up. Beautiful Alderwood with a dark cherry stain and I paid a little extra to get the olive green liner and I think it's just perfect! There is plenty of space for my Nomos watches to be stored away as well! It is exquisitely crafted and I highly recommend it for any serious collector!

The box reminds me of the wooden storage boxes for color pencils that some artists use. Nice.
Cool it’s a great case, so now you have space for more and more new pens 🖊 😆.
I really really love the case. I like the olive green it really makes the Watch and pens pop with that color behind it Keep it up
Beautiful cabinet. Love wood. Think I'll grab one. Thanks for the great review!!
Wonderful box. It looks so well made and the qualities materials is superb. Enjoy!
You can feel the quality of the workmanship through the computer screen 😆. Minimalist yet classic at the same time.
That old case of yours is nice.. but dang!! What a neat step up! Super clean look, great find👍🤓👍
I would definitely hang onto that other case and use that for travel. Just take a few favs and go somewhere. Do they make something nice for the ink? I had an old inkwell from my grandfather when I was young. It got smashed in my first move out from home. That was upsetting for loosing an heirloom.. but it did have some ink and that was all over everything in the box. I found out about it all later and got a confession out of a friend about it. 😢
@@davidmurphy9049 I’m actually planning on giving it away to a new pen collector at my next meet up! I’m going to get a proper travel case to carry around!
@@CraigRoccanova Good deal. That will make for another entertaining video as well! :)
Put a ribbon under the long pens and pull them up. Don’t risk damaging your pen clips or finish on your pens.
Great case. Quite a step up from the old one. 😁
5x the storage but not 5x the price!
Stunning.. i am familiar with the brand since i saw it in a local offline store but when i went back it was discontinued and gone. Seeing yours, i guess i could consider oversea shipping. Anyway, great review and wow do you have a nice collection 😃
Thank you again! The shipping from Japan to South Korea wouldn’t be bad but to Sweden might cost a little extra but it’s soooooo worth it! 😃
@@CraigRoccanova indeed! I dont have many so I could go for a stackable option that lets me add over time haha
Love that case, but really, really love those Waterman's! I first saw that case on Jane Campbell's channel, "Fountain Pens, ink & more". So, good to see it again! How was the ordering process, and what was the "wait time"?
Ordering was easy! You fill out a form (I mentioned in the comment box I wanted the dark stain and the olive interior). Toru contacted me and confirmed with me what I was interested in with photos of the box. Then the invoice was sent my way and it shipped from Japan to California in about 8 days! The price included the shipping cost and the custom order (about $18 more for the green liner). I’m super happy with the whole experience!
@@CraigRoccanova 👍👍
It lists for 82,000 Yen and that is > $500. Is that correct?
Yeah pretty much!
