      Most of them are forced to do it,theyre ususally very poor indviduals who live in romania in horrible conditions.They often get kidnapped and exploited around the europe.I watched a documentary about it and one girl said she earned 14,000 euros and send it to her mother to build a house.@@janettesanjuan2452

    My mom got got back in the early 90’s in the Bronx NY on Fordham Road. She bought a bigger bag and put a rat trap in it. She went back to Fordham with the trap set in the bag. We were walking together and i heard a massive crack and homeboy ripped his hand out of my moms bag while screaming at the top of his lungs! His finger had to be broke. He ran down the block and disappeared by V.I.M. Everybody was dying from laughter.

    A group of three or more girls tried and targeted me on the metro today, they quickly scurried away and pretended they couldn’t understand English when I threatened to break all the fingers on the one trying to get into my rucksack.
    Worst part of the whole thing was one of them had a baby in a pram, the bystander syndrome here in Paris is shocking…not one single person around me tried to give me a little nudge to warn me of what was happening. Metro was packed so people definitely took notice especially after I shouted at them. Ridiculous, I hate working here 😅

    NEVER pick up something for a woman that drops it. For example a water bottle. They work together on a train and try to surround you by appearing to be so polite to let you go before them while exiting a train for example. I had a young pregnant girl on a train in Italy suddenly drop a water bottle. My friends and I were already suspicious as we were approaching our stop. We all just stood there, looking at the bottle laying on the ground. 😂

    I was with my sister in Paris. We are both from New Zealand but she lived in England since she was 22 and I was visiting her. I traveled to many countries on my own but we went to Paris together as she was working there. We were at a restaurant and I had my handbag next to me whereas she had her large handbag on the floor. When the table next to us left one guy started walking towards it and I wondered why he got up from a small table to go to a table for 8. I felt something was off and I said to my sister pick up your handbag now. She did it but told me I was paranoid (coming from the one who regularly got her phone or wallet stolen or she left them behind). I looked him in the eye and he turned around to go in the opposite direction. The next night we went to another restaurant and randomly the couple that were sitting on the other side of us the night before were sitting next to us. I started a conversation and the lady said that we were lucky because the people who took the table we had got their wallet stolen. I turned to my sister and said do you still think I'm paranoid. All this to say that locals need to have their eyes open as well not just us tourists.

When you are in a different country in the tourist areas you would be stupid if you aren't extra careful of your handbag. If I wasn't aware my sisters bag would of been stolen. It sounds like you either haven't managed to go to different countries or you are naive to think that tourists are targeted.

      @amyrivers4093 Před 2 měsíci +2

      @dancing_qu33n yes I mean aren't targeted. Thank you for pointing that out. I'm well traveled because I've been to multiple countries on each continent as a female on my own. I've unfortunately had many instances where I've been preyed on and so I am aware of my surroundings but not to the point where I stress over it. I don't think I'm better than anyone who hasn't it's just shows that I know and have experienced what can happen. Your comment to me was judgemental and unnecessary, so yes, I'm going to be defensive when you come at me with that attitude.
      I have no desire to argue back and forward with you especially since we come from the same place. I was a teacher at Manurewa Central School for many years. Did any of your relatives go there. I'm asking because you mentioned Rewa. I'm not sure how long it's been since you came back to Auckland but a lot of the main streets are full of crime and people begging for food. Teenagers working for gangs are stealing and also attacking women in groups. I was broken into and assaulted. Anyway I wish you all the best.

I’ve had a friend get her phone stolen TWICE in 6 months. Phone in pocket 1st time in a busy cafe. 2nd Phone on table whilst working on laptop in an empty cafe during the day. She’s Moroccan too so it’s surprising considering. I’m known to be paranoid, and despite travelling to Morocco, Paris, Rome, Nigeria (the crazy filled markets), I’ve never been robbed. I suddenly turned around and saw a group of mostly girls around 15 years old, one of them had her hands around my waist. I instantly realised what was happening and grabbed my wallet from my pocket. The funny part is the child's hand slid in my pocket the same time as mine did. The mother was mad that i caught the child. My pocket was empty anyway. My money was hidden elsewhere. And while exiting the church, on the ground it said, "Beware of pick pocketers." 🤦🏾‍♀️

So when a giy came up to ask and asked us for stuff like where the next train goes i took a step so i was slightly behind them. Because i saw how he was trying to get my bfs attention to one of the signs (he was really smooth but my alarm bells are always up).
    I saw he was about to put his hand into on of my bfs pockets but he saw i knew his plan so he smoothly acted like he was just thanking my bf.
    Now i will never have 100% proof besides the fact i was feeling suspicious of this giy. But i told my bf not to in nteract with anyone and put all his stuff further in the back (he didnt wanna listen before) but that scared him enouh cuz he was clueless.

A bunch of girls came to me and my husband with some empty coffee cups asking for money with one hand and trying to steal with the other hidden under a blanket. I grabbed this old lady's hand and started to check if something was missing inside my purse. Thankfully wasn't. She was soooo mad at me.
      Second time was in a metro in Madrid. I didn't even realize she was searching inside my purse. But I instinctively grabbed her hand.. I squissed it so much that she stated at me with pain in her eyes.. Not even knowing what to do. I wasn't sure if she was a thief tho. But when I let her go.. They moved away from us and got off at the next stop. When we got to the Eiffel Tower stop they were already there looking for more targets. They didn’t get off at the stop. I think only if you’ve been a victim or a witness of it you’d understand. They go in a pack 4+ better, from what I’ve seen and heard it’s always girls, at famous tourist stop train stations, where it’s crowded. They all surround you and bump on you during the train ride and you won’t notice your pocket’s empty till later. They get off at the next stop.
