So many professional CZcamsrs uploaded a review of this camera all at the same time, and somehow this is the only one that thoroughly goes through all the camera features in-depth in practical application (not just talking about it but actually taking the time and showing it in use with post). I don’t know why people don’t understand this. They send the product to reviewers ahead of time and there is an embargo in place until they can publish. Most channels will then schedule to publish the review automatically at that date and time.

Thank you for such a great review. I've been debating between a simple vlogging camera or upgrading one of my camera bodies to an expensive mirrorless in my kit, but after seeing this and looking at reviews on the new zv - e10, this seems to be the winner. I don't really want to deal with changing lenses out or lugging a heaving camera/lens combo for vlogging. I swear I've spent the last month debating over this and your run through showing it in full action was a game changer.

I've been in love with Sony cameras (the A-series most) but this sweet little thing is amazing. Even more impressive though was the wireless microphones.
Next generation needs:
- *Wider angle* - _I mean come'on, it is a VLOGGING camera_
- *Better image stabilization*
- *USB-C*
- *Fix for the polarized screen* _(if you wear polarized glasses, you can't see what's on the screen)_
And optionally,
- *Bring back the ring/crown options like on the RX100 Mk Vii*
- *Move the tripod hole so you can actually access the battery & sd card compartment when a tripod is screwed in*
- *Use a better material for the chassis - it is currently a cheap plastic*

I love how Justin kept the audio quality really nice despite of wearing the mask all throughout.
The mask acts as a filter in the same way a mic windshield/dead cat does.

Best review I have seen on this camera, It’s good to see a review from a non camera snob. A perfect review from a great vlogger! I was going to return this camera, but now I’m gonna give it a second shot!
According to the sony website the 3.5mm input is stereo, this is crucial detail you should mention on a review, especially for electronic musicians recording live jams it means they can go stereo line in from their mixer or DAW, not having to sync audio to film later in an editor. Next question what it like in Low Light?

I just bought this camera for my CZcams channel - regular cameras have been killing me so can’t wait to start using this !!!! One other benefit that hasn’t been mentioned is it can record for as long as you need rather than 30 minutes like on a cannon. It’s soooooo annoying when you are in mid flow and you have to get up and press record again! Losing all the natural moment ..., can’t wait !
Have you heard about the Sony app for PC or MAC that takes gyroscopic data from the camera and smooths it. Lets you use Standard stabilisation without the full crop of Active stabilisation. Kind of like a Warp filter with inside knowledge!

The wireless mic seems a tad hot, is there a way to lower the input on the actual recording ?
There is! You can also turn down audio on the camera. That’s why I wish this had audio output so we can monitor. Need some more testing to figure out the best levels for each mic

Picked up this camera today. Haven't had a chance to test all the features. But I'm really happy with it. With the new update you can use it as a Webcam over USB! The 2 things I don't like are the touch screen. You can't use it for the menus! And the position of the battery/SD door. You can't open it while on a tripod!

The stabilization is good enough but not great - compared to a gimbal camera like the DJI Osmo Pocket it's not even close.

I am using ZV-1 to shoot my video, so far, as a beginner, I am satisfied with the footage quality compared to my iphone.
The stabilisation even on the highest mode didn't look good at all. Maybe I've just become jaded by how good the GoPro is with its Hypersmooth that I expect any moving shots to be buttery smooth now. Otherwise this camera seems like an absolute winner at everything else when it is stationary.
Yea but remember this is closer field of view than go pro. Ultra wide always looks more stabilised and is easier to stabilise.
The video quality does not look very good either. Aside from the focus and the high frame rate, I believe my Lumix G85's video looks much better than this. I really wanted to like this camera :(

@@LansAnova G85 with a kit lens is $697 at B&H, but for $200 more you can get the G95 with high frame rate and the same quality of the legendary GH5.
I know, I know, this a video centric camera but the quality of the video is just not there. It actually looked worse than an action cam. Sorry.
The G85 has a bigger sensor and can pair with a ton of great lenses but bigger (Especially when you add stuff like mics), much much slower AF, and no built in ND filter. Trade offs.

Depends, if it's an Osmo, it won't, the grab points will get in the way of buttons. A Ronin S should work well.
