► Is the Weapon Banner worth it? a scam? should you really NEVER pull on it? I'm analyzing the Genshin impact Weapon Banner from a Free to play low spender point of view. Answering the question is it worth it to pull on the Weapon banner? My answer is yes! ... sometimes, when done wisely. Hey guys just wanna clarify some stuff!
I definitely don't think ppl should be pulling on the weapon banner frequently. I'm talking when the stars align with a perfect banner, you've got the gems saved up, there's no character you want in sight soon, and I NEVER want to incentivize spending, this is more directed for Free to play/BP Welkin players! Always prepare for disappointment and choose accordingly, swiper no swiping ❌
For me, I rolled for a 5-star weapon and ended up getting the donut. Luckily, I have both Raiden and Kokomi, so either weapon was a win, even if I preferred getting the polearm.
Basically, the advice you gave is the mindset I have. Only roll if both weapons have some value in your party. Understand and accept you may not get the weapon you want.
It seems like straightforward advice, but it’s very surprising that a lot of people don’t carry this mindset when rolling on the weapon banner.

Most of the time, the weapon banner is indeed a scam. Luckily though, both Staff of Homa banners were not scams. the second Homa banner is the only weapon banner I've ever summoned on and I got lucky enough to get the Homa for my Hu Tao.
Yes. I also remember it was during its anniversary and genesis were doubled. Got to buy $99 for once in a lifetime and got Homa from it. It was well worth.

@@DougMarv Depends. People around me are horrible, the game occupies a lot of time from my life, i won't say that Genshin's my life, but its my 2nd life. "Help people around me" they don't need it, and are not worth it. Not everyone lives the same life

Started pulling on weapons since Ayaka’s first banner As a low spender/f2p at first I felt a bit meh but now I believe pulling on the weapon banner is a good thing depending on your scenario and the banner from my point of view I would recommend people pull on it when they believe they have enough of the characters they wanted and are a bit of a high AR I started pulling like I said on my Ayaka banner at ar 56 because I had enough characters at that time and i wanted to make them strong

I actually really want Kokomi's doughnut and since it's considered "bad," it's always paired with another really good weapon that I want. Any doughnut weapon banner is a win for me.
i remember spending $100 for the jade cutter/moonglow banner. I got my 2nd amos bow on my 80+ pull and let me tell you i literally cried lmao. After 3 pulls I got the moonglow, at this point i was gone hysterical.
Luckily after another 3 or so pulls, I got the jade cutter lol

Your problem is an unreasonable level of optimism. I consider 180 wishes the direct cost of a character and 240(?) For a weapon.
If you expect the absolute worst, you can only encounter positive surprises.

@@viciousnutella You could have waited. I have been f2p for a year before i started spending. In league, i was f2p for a whole ass decade.
For me, there are many tripple a games i have but i just stoped playing cause of reasons. This is especially the case for fighting games. I don't mind puting a lot into a game if the game have proven to provide extended entertainment already.

I regret not pulling on the song of broken pines and freedom sword banner, I tried to get song of broken pines when it first came out for my Eula and got Aquila favonia and skyward harp. I have Kazuha and Eula level 90, I should’ve pulled!!
When deciding to wish on a weapon banner, I only go for banners that I would be happy with getting either weapon. This helps reduce buyer’s remorse if I get the banner weapon I wasn’t going for, and brings up the odds of getting a weapon I’d actually want to 75%. Because of this rule, I have only wished on two banners: the homa/elegy banner and the freedom-sworn/song of broken pines banner. I got lucky and ended up with the ones I was going for (homa and freedom sworn), but I still would’ve been satisfied with getting elegy or pines as well. It also helps to check which four star weapons have a rate up, as they can greatly increase/decrease a banner’s value to you. One last thing to consider is that there are weapons like PJWS and wolf’s gravestone that are great pulls, but there’s a (small but real) chance that you pull them on the standard banner, which could suck considering the primos you sunk into the weapons banner. Therefore, unless they are game changing weapons like Amos bow on Ganyu or PJWS on Xiao, I would generally advice against pulling for standard banner weapons.

I got the Staff of Homa for my Hu Tao and she does so much more damage than any other character I own. I love characters but I think at some point we have too many and an amazing weapon can be worth passing on 2 or 3 characters. I have 39 characters , I’m never gonna use all of them.
I will pull on the Raiden and Ayato weapon banner in the future! Both weapons and characters I do have and I need both of them too. So here is hoping

I only got 2 5 star weapon from the weapon abnner and i admit i will probably wish again on it in the future.
But the reality u need to be ready to to not get what u wish for cuz chance is u will not get what u want unless u have money u rather actualy burn than to use it for anything else.
For low spenders and f2p i definitely dont advise to wish on it even tho i am a low spender and i wished on twice i do not regret it cuz i got wehat i wanted one time for the 1st time and even when i lost it i got a winged jade spear.(so ye i got lucky)
But the 4 star weapons are absolutely cut it to play the game if you realy need banger weapons get one of the battle pass weapon instead or a blackcliff weapon from the shop is the more f2p friendly way to get banger weapons.
BUT)t) as far as bis weapons goes outside of 5 star signature weapons a lot of the 5 star character has 4 star weapons that does super well with them.
TLDR: 5 star weapons are absolutely bands and look neat on their Units but its not needed and u could spend those precious primos on 5 star/4 star units and constelations that will have a way higher impact on how you play the game onward cuz yes i agree some weapons can change the way how u paly the game but the main feature of the gameplay are still the characters. .
Im f2p and recently got my first 5 star which is ganyu after grinding and saving up to get 77 wishes. I was so excited when i pulled her but this was a day before the 3.7 update so i told myself to save up the remaining wishes and since i got her early i only managed to use up 30 wishes so i still had 47 left. I was going to save the 47 but after winning the 50/50 and getting her early, i was feeling very lucky so i decided to just pull her weapon in the weapon banner. Now there was good news and bad news, good news is that i did manage to pull a 5 star weapon, the bad news is that it wasn't ganyus bow. Now im just here ranting and regretting spending that many wishes i worked weeks to get on the weapon banner. Im f2p so idk when ill be getting my next 5 star but at least i have ganyu. 🙃
Weapon banners were never a scam.
If you are pulling on the weapon banner, just like in the character banner, you should evaluate both 5* and 4* featured weapons aswell as prepare yourself if u get a standard.
For me, when I was wishing for Tighnari's weapon, I didn't mind getting the other featured weapon (which I don't remember which one it is). Not only did I lost, I even went further and lost the 75/25. Thankfully I got Amo's bow, which is also great on him.
Same goes for the ongoing banner: Staff of Homa and Aqua Simulacra. I was looking for Aqua but got Homa, which is fine because now my xiangling is dealing much more dmg without changing my team comp that much
You should only pull for something guaranteed. If you have 225 fates go for it. If youve less than that just don't. Youre only going to frustrate yourself.

It honestly just depends on how invested you’re into the game. I have friends who aren’t committed to the game as i am. I tell them to not spend money in the game. The face gives you a lot of promos and just pull for characters you like.
Then there’s me. If i have enough primos and I’m willingly to take the risks then yeah roll away. Don’t get upset if you don’t get what you want. It’s just a game.
I haven’t pulled in the weapon banner much, but honestly, I’m most interested in getting fav weapons.
I’m super late but I’m AR55 and there is just somthing about weapons. I don’t have many 5 stars: Eula, yae miko, and Nahida, but i have their weapons :) i just love having the weapon and although i skip many many banners, atleast my favorites get the extra drip. id say a good weapon allows you to test different characters of the same weapon type
I don't think the kokomi example is a good one. The donut better than ttds in freeze comps, but the buffs the ttds provides outdamage her personal damage, and in electrocharged teams, if I remember the math correctly, hakushin ring is almost the same damage as donut but with better utility.
I still think it's a good vid tho. Most people don't talk about the weapon banner with this much of nuance.

I absolutely agree that "never roll on weapon banners" is bad advice. It really depends on your account. For example I used my primos to roll for Xiao but barely ended up using him after a few days. Now that I have Venti and Kazuha, he's collecting dust in my account. I just really don't like his play style. He also wasted a ton of resin that I could've used for something else. More characters isn't necessarily always the best option. I would've much preferred if those wishes went towards a five star weapon for a character I actually used instead.
Knowing my luck, no way in frozen hell that i can get the engulfing lightning as a low spender
f2p and pull for homa and lyneys signature, got them both and i dont regret a thing but likely not testing my luck ever again lol

Ok I recently got Ayaka, got 2 weeks left on her banner. Do I go for another Ayaka to get constellations or go for the mistsplitter? I’m a free to play player with not a lot of gems, ar19
If your a content completionist, and have atleast 3 solid composition team, then yes, its time to pull for the weapon for the extra upgrade.
I got TWO unforged before getting mistsplitter. Bruh the things I do for my girl Ayaka 💀....
The only time I've been lucky on the weapon banner was when I got PJC very early.
I'm f2p and will consider pulling a weapon ONLY when i feel satisfied with the 5 star characters i pulled and if the banner is really good or nah
Itto's upcoming rerun weapon banner may look.. kinda trash with the 5* Dust Ball, but I still want the Redhorn. I love Itto to bits, it's the only limited 5* weapon I would want. I'd love to get Jade Spear for Xiao, but I can get it one day from the standard banner, or as an off banner.
And I have 210 summons saved up as of writing this, so I have a good chance getting Redhorn... but I also want Kuki, or whenever Kazuha gets his rerun banner cause I collect husbando's that I like. So I'm still torn what to do, it kinda gives me anxiety how nervous I am rn to make the wrong choice cause it's reliant to RNG ;w;
i'm in your same exact position. i want his weapon, gorou cons, kazuha, etc. however itto's weapon banner is absolute garbage. if you're okay with like 2-3 new 5 star characters vanishing in place of 2 memory of dusts, then go for it.

My best option is to wait and see what 2.8 banners will look like before making a decision. That requires quite some self-control of how badly I want the best for my Itto ♡

the only time i went all in on a weapon banner was for ayakas sword. i didnt even pull for ayaka, i just wanted my kaeya to be dripped out lol. kinda funny i have ayakas sword but no ayaka

I know you probably think the same, but i would never pull on a weapon if there is any 5 star character i want or i would benefit from in any way. Characters completely change gameplay and can be really fun. Weapons tho are summarized just statsticks
If a 5* characters do very bad in China, where they are released first, they will give him like candy in the west (got my Wanderer winning my second 50/50 in a row, and I did not want him).
With the 4 stars the tactic is different. I wanted Faruzan for my Xiao, but in a 10x10 wishes, I did not get her once. Not once in 100 pulls.

And my 1st try on weapon banner was long ago (1,4) when I really wished a better bow for my ganyu (1st 5*) and the banner was copium but I was target-ing skyward harp (with lost praying catalyst the other) and lost both weapons on banner, getting off banner wolfgravestone (It will turn out later that it was a great loss back than)
I was fresh in the game maybe AR 35-45 but my next try was when I got Radien ......Since then,I haven't lost on the banner and winning 3 time in row......
Engulfing , Staff of Homa and now Misplitter.
Eventually I got Amos on standard for my Ganyu and lost praying catalyst (only weapon I don't use ,but maybe I will find dps catalyst for me once) .
My first next gold on standard is again weapon and I hope it skyward harp for Kuju Sarita.
I must say , I was lucky... I got amazing weapons now and Iam stres free.... I could just enjoy .
But yeah I know that a loooot f2p players didn't have that luck.... and my point is after all YOU DON'T NEED 5* WEAPONS to beat spiral abyiss......sooo it is a scam bec there is no end content for C6 and R5.

I'll go for the 4 stars, I am guaranteed on Ayaka at pity 42, I don't have sac sword, favonious sword not favonious lance, my xinqiu is using anemona kageuchi, I'll give Ayaka the anemona, and try to get the sword for Xq and the lance for Rosaria (no, I don't have Diona), if I happen to get Mitsplitter that's great but if I get the favonious sword and spear (and not the bell pls) I'm happy
For f2p, weapon banner is great to pull on when there are very versatile and useful weapons on it, so not pulling when donut is the other weapon is understandable but not pulling when it’s aqua and homa is unacceptable especially when you aren’t prioritising collecting characters

I agree that you need to be okay with not getting the featured weapon when you pull on this, the feeling if you're not prepared for this can very fast snowball into very bad habits on a banner that is extremely expensive.
The sad thing about me is I couldn't care less about the other 5 star weapon's in the game, the only one I actually really want is Nahida's signature weapon, and I know I could either get REALLY lucky or definitely not

I only pull if the both the 5 star in the banner is what I need and or the 4 star weapons are also good. The only weapon banner I pulled for is the haran, I got it after 100 pulls. Is it worth it? Yes cause I also got elegy for sara, a couple of widsith, and I finally r5 the dragons bane for my hutao.

I spend a few dollars on a weapon banner for my Ayaka but instead, I got two 5-star calamity queller which is "ok" but I considered it a loss!
Lol, I have 25% success rate on 50-50s in both the limited character and weapon banners.
I have lost the 50-50 on Homa, Engulfing Lightning, and Amos and will never double dip so Optimized is useless. Only won once on Homa rerun.

I pulled a few times on it when both weapons were good. So far I got Homa, Elegy, PJWS and Redhorn from the weapon banner. Luckily I have Hu Tao, Xiao and Itto so they can use their signature weapons and Fischl uses my Elegy.
Ar 59 100k gap before 60 but still haven't pulled even once in weapon banner

I can say from a point of a player wasting a lot of wishes on this wp banner that it costs you more than you think it would . The rate is over 1/3 chance you'll get it , basically unless you are lucky , you could have spent primogems 1,5 times or even 2 times more than the character banner. So my advice is just pull if you can use both of the weapons .

Yes! but if you have any form of "fate points" from the "epitomized path" like from failing once after charting a course towards a weapon you want, that part will not cross over.

Hello. New player here. Can someone please explain shortly, why resen is such a big deal? Doesn't it regen itself in a day or so?
If you are ar50 up, trust me 160 resin per day is not enough since you are already trying to build a team you have to consider, talent material, weapon material, level up books, artifacts, and mora which all cost resins.
The reason so many people said it was a scam was because for the games first year the banners almost always had a good weapon and something very niche that almost no one wanted. Having double banners made it so the chance of either weapon being worth went way up. If both weapons are an upgrade for your account it becomes far more worth it.

The main reason for f2p to not pull on weapon banner is this: separate pity buildup.
Weapons are less fun, but if you focus on weapon banners, you will be stronger in the long run.
But, it is a single player game. It's not competitive, so, I'd rather have fun. Therefore, I don't pull on weapon banners.

Weapon banner is a scam for sure but if ur lucky you can get the weapon easily I would say I been lucky there until now I think I reached soft pity or hard idk and pulled standard dupe skyward atlas which I refined who I don't think I will ever use but ye weapon banner pulling should be late game after completing ur team + artifacts
I one time was trnna get Foliar incision and it give me the staff 5 star drop 2 different times made me spend so much

Respect, I didn’t pull on the weapon banner for my first entire year lol. I’ve still only pulled on it a few times but have been happy with what I’ve got! Donut for Kokomi (she’s my fave character), two staff of Homas lol, and one lame skyward atlas but it happens
If I use 40 primos on the weapon banner and a new weapon banner comes, will my pity reset?
Pity stays but the epitomised path resets. So if you lose on Amos banner twice you'll path will be reset if you try on an Amos banner again.

Went for Raiden's weapon and got a Skyward Blade. So instead of getting angry, I thought about who and how it could help me. Turns out Keqing can keep the buff up 100% of the time and be one hell of an electro driver with it.
